This is by far the most accurate representation of the main issues that could occur on xbox BD. PA would be wise to heed this warning.

Although, the case with xbox gold won't hold water on PA's view. You're paying to Microsoft for online access and "exclusive" discounts. You will get at best, some deals on pearls 2-4 times a year.

Let me tell you something as a 4 year Vet from across all regions of bdo.

PA is the most greedy company that I have ever encoutered in 20 years of gaming. If you have any hope of the game being reasonable with their ingame purchases or p2w I feel sorry for you Its like EA but around 100 times worse imagine paying 150$ for changing your main character or accelerating your gear progression to 4 times the regular speed by paying $$$ .

I would recommend visiting the PC version of the forum if you want to see how you will be treated by this company :)

You could also not and still enjoy a decent game thats free/cheap, depending on the publisher.

I mean, you chose to do that.. nobody forced your hand. Its not like bungie's destiny poo where you HAD to buy the DLC to actually, play the game.

Those of us who play xbox only are used to paying for xbox live imo. And since the only big mmo we have is eso, which also has a sub like thing (eso plus $15, monthly) it doesn't look as bad to me. 

I would suggest if your fully investing in this solely for bdx, buy the 1 year of xbox live. You will save money in the long run.

This, I see his point but I agree with you I have xbl til summer 2020 already. Find it cheap and buy 2-3 years worth and it's not that bad.

Yeah to those of us who have been paying for it for more than half a decade its normal. I know initially that is why some people went pc or ps (maybe nintendo). But other companies are starting to slowly lean towards a similar model, at least console wise.

Also, I would like to state that since we pay for xbox live, a lot of stuff is not tolerated.  I've heard of cases of abuse on pc by people, on xbox your account will be suspended and/or banned for racism, bullying, and harassing people.

Half a decade? I've been buying gold since Halo 2, which was what, 2004ish? 

I sure have given Microsoft a lot of money now that I think of it.

Word of advice, never take the time to add up how much of your money went to MS...it's kinda depressing tbh

My guess is it'll follow the same path as the PC. Things like value packs won't be in the game at launch as they will provide nearly zero value in the begging. Nobody will need all that storage space and who really cares about paying a extra 30% tax on a standard green ring. Once people start getting 60+ workers and posting duo ogre rings those value packs will offer a lot more value.

I personally have zero issue with value packs either as every mmo I've ever played for more then a week before getting board has had a box price and monthly sub (wow, ff14, and bdo on the pc)

As for the other p2w stuff from the pc cash shop it most likely won't hit Xbox for a few years and I'd hope that If I'm still playing the game at that point my gear will already be enhanced enough to not have any need for it.

For me it would be about 9 yrs

What a shame that none of the devs will ever read this or even consider this being a major problem. This is beautiful and a great write down. I really hope all at PA get to read this.
