I cashed in my piggy bank at the coinstar machine and got a $320 Amazon gift card. Any recommendations for accessories I should buy with it? Is the elite controller worth the $150 price tag? Do the cooling attachments actually make a difference? 

Wish a Xbox gift card could be used to buy pearls lol, I'd just spend the whole Damn thing on Xbox cards if you could

Honestly, I don't think any controller over $60 is worth the trouble -- long as you can play video games and communicate just fine, then do what suits you. The only things I would honestly invest in are good headsets with microphones because we bought two before that were both duds yet cost nearly $50 total for both.  Why in the world did it only give you an Amazon gift card?? For Christ sake, not everyone uses the Amazon website for everything! Or at least I don't.

Coin star machines charge 8 cents a dollar to use but if you get a gift card they wave the fee. There's other options for gift cards but Amazon is the most useful imo since they sell pretty much everything

I'd buy the controller only if I somehow broke my 2 basic ones.

Regarding the cooler, it really depends on the placement and the climate in the room. I would definitely buy one since the climate around here is usually warm.

Any other options?

I might just have to buy something other then Xbox stuff. The only other thing I can think of would be a external hard drive but I doubt I'll be playing anything other then BDO for quite awhile. Might just have to buy something boring like Christmas presents for family

FACTS! 

I completely forgot about the chatpad. It is a royal pain to roll around with the joystick. Even with predictable text, it takes forever.

You can also consider rechargeable battery packs with recharging cords and/or stands. We invested in that a year ago and sincerely cherish the item. Cost was about $15 I believe.

I love my elite controller, would definitely recommend. 

Don't get the cooler, they actually can make the xbox run hotter because of blocking vents.
