The following system is an idea to increase immerison and rewards for BDO while grinding.

Presenting the Nightmare Realm (NR)
What is it?
The NR is a server or instanced area, that has increased drop rate, increased mob density, increased all exp, rare mobs and a limited available time to stay.

How do we get there?
The NR is a rare event "drop" from killing any monster in certain spots. They will spawn a portal to the realm, which you will have to actively enter. It will take your character from your current server into the NR.

How do we get back?
Each portal can spawn with a different lenght of available time. This could be a range from 10 minutes up to 30 minutes. To get back, you simply have to die to mobs or as a flagged player in pvp to another player (no loss of progression or items from death) or choose to engage your portal to warp out.

What are rare mobs?
The NR offers monsters a chance to be spawned as supercharged creatures with increased HP and damage. They will drop 10x the loot with a higher chance for rare loot.

Can other people enter the same portal?
The portals are only visible to you. However other players may have gotten their own portal in the same grind spot vicinity.

Can we engage in pvp?
You are incentivised to engage in pvp via a special realm drop from killing other players. This drop: Bundle of a dead adventurer,  will be of high value and with the death of your target, the player will get ported out of the NR while dropping the special pvp item. You will also get his remainig time added to your active NR time. However, when entering the NR you will not be able to change your euqipment. The Bundle will contain a random amount of upgrade stones and other useful material.

Can we decline pvp in the NR?
Once you enter the realm, you are automatically flagged for pvp. When unflagging, you will not receive or drop the special pvp item for this run. However, a flagged player can still decide to kill you and get your active time added to his time. You will then enter a mercy state which allows you to stay and grind for the remaining time (no loss of original time) and other players will not get any benefits from killing you again. As soon as you receive pvp damage, being killed by mobs will not port you out of the realm.

What about life skills?
The NR portal can also appear as a limited time loot drop (portal stone) while gathering, hunting, fishing or farming. This looted portal stone has a duration of 5 minutes and has to be activated in time. When activated, you will get ported into the NR server for up to 10 minutes. The loot table from all life skill activities mentioned will have a rare item drop that you can receive.

Fishing: Nightmare Fish (as a second loot drop in one catch) - high value when traded and has a chance to extract caphras when dried. Dried Nightmare Fish will be an ingredient for some new recipes. The value of processing vs. trading is equally high for either a masterful trader or a processor or cook. However, the fish will have less value for more inexperienced players deciding to trade or process.

Gathering/Hunting/Farming: Nightmare shards that can be processed into multiple caphras or other upgrade stones, depending on your choice.

You will not be flagged for pvp when using the portal stone and you will not yield any pvp reward for being killed while in the NR. Also, you will not be able to change your equipment inside the NR.

Other special items?
The NR will have a very rare loot drop from all activities, rewarding players with a portal piece. When you acquire 5 lost portal pieces, you will be able to melt them into your own NR portal once a day for 30 minutes. The personal portal is family bound and resets daily.
