Skill locking issue

Prior to Succession, the following wizard skills could be triggered via hotkeys on Xbone:

Healing Aura (X)

Healing Lighthouse (LT)+(X)

Following Succession, the hotkeys no longer work. The skills can be assigned to the Ring Menu and work from there, but that's a waste of 2 slots for something that was working previously and (still) documented in-game as being valid with their assigned hotkeys.

Thank you for giving us feedback on the issue! I will get this sent up!

@CM_Erased, thanks for the quick reply. However, I've discovered the actual cause and resolved the issue I was having myself.

It turns out the cause was locking the skills which, having to look this up outside the game, appears to be intended to prevent skills from being executed with hotkeys. While that's understandably a useful feature for players that may not want to accidentally trigger particular skills with hotkeys, it is poorly documented within the game (specifically within the new Skills UI - read as: it isn't documented/noted at all when a player locks a skill). Having leveled more than a dozen characters past 56/Awakening (i.e. at least one of every class released to console thus far; Combat Fame: 1408), I don't recall ever seeing anything in-game that acted as either help, information/instructions, or a tutorial on what that feature does, when it might be used, etc.

To exacerbate the situation, when I reported the issue via a support ticket, the response I got was:

"I understand that you are having issues as you are unable to use the healing skills of the Wizard Class after switching from Awakening to Succession. In line with this, we have tested on our end and found no issues regarding the healing spells, as such, we would be glad if you can provide us a video in which you are using the healing skills in Succession showing the controller in order for us to further investigate."

Seriously? Given the solution turned out to be so simple, why didn't support first ask whether the affected skills were locked and suggest unlocking them?

This isn't the first time that I've opened a support ticket on an issue and was basically asked to provide visual proof of the issue, rather than suggesting what might seem to some (e.g. experienced players) as something "obvious". Whether this is due to lack of experience with the game and/or training, it leaves the player with the impression that their goal is to close tickets rather than actually provide help and resolve issues.

That perception is further enforced by tickets being closed after a single reply, regardless of whether the issue is actually resolved or not. A reasonable approach that I've seen elsewhere is to leave a ticket open until either marked by the customer/player as resolved, or auto-closed it if there's no further response/update within 24-72 hours in order to not leave tickets open for issues that have been "abandoned" by the person reporting same.

Please escalate this to management.
