GM Notes [GM Note] Learning About World Bosses Part. II – Nouver, Master of the Sandstorm
Black Desert 2021-08-02 00:00

Adventurers!

It’s time for our second lesson about the World Bosses! Today’s topic is Nouver, Master of the Sandstorm. Whether you’re a new Adventurer who’s never even seen a World Boss, or a returning Adventurer who just wants to brush up on what you've forgotten, remember to take a look at GM notes for help!

Now, let’s dive right in!

Beginnings of Nouver, Master of the Sandstorm

Nouver first graced the Black Desert world back in December 28, 2016, and reached console on June 18, 2019.

Beware, as you cross the desert for it’s not just the heatstroke or hypothermia that may endanger you. They say that if you catch a glimpse of the Nouver, the sand tyrant, while adventuring alone, it’s best to start running...

What’s the story behind Nouver?

▲ Nouver’s Fearsome Visage

One day, a sandstorm swept through the Valencian Desert. Sandstorms are a common occurrence in the great desert, but this one was different. Nothing could withstand the intensity of the storm. Settlements disappeared into the sands, and those traversing the desert were never heard from again.

The Kingdom of Valencia tasked a small group to find the cause of the Sandstorm, yet nobody returned alive. As time passed and the sandstorm shifted, a journal of an adventurer was found beneath the sands of the desert.

The journal mentioned a vague shadow in the skies above the sandstorm, but then nothing else. The people of Valencia named this fearsome shadow Nouver, after the adventurer who perished writing about it.

Where does Nouver appear? What rewards do you get for defeating Nouver?

Here’s an image that answers both questions!

Nouver appears in the great desert on the “Tyrant’s Hill,” southeast of the Sand Grain Bazaar.

Navigating the desert unprepared is a nearly impossible task, so it would be best to heed our warning! If you’re afraid you might get lost before you can even confront Nouver, visit the Loyalties Shop to nab yourself a compass that allows you to see your bearings on the World Map and Minimap.

Now for what everyone is here for... the rewards!

Remember that you have a higher chance at better rewards the more you contribute to Nouver’s defeat (which means hitting the dragon where it hurts!), so take heart and fight courageously!

Nouver's Sealed Sub-Weapon Box

Likely an unfamiliar item to newer Adventurers, this is a box that contains a sub-weapon imbued with the power of Nouver. If you’ve ever seen a weapon with the name Nouver attached to it in a passing conversation or Central Market, this is one way to obtain it.

Before opening Nouver's Sealed Sub-Weapon Box, make sure to open it with the right character because the weapon you receive can only be equipped for that class.

■ Nouver’s Latent Aura

Fragments of Nouver’s Power which you can bring to Atui Balacs in Sand Grain Bazaar after collecting 100 of them to exchange for a Nouver Sealed Sub-Weapon Box.

■ Belongings of an Adventurer

A precious bag left behind by an adventurer who perished while fighting Nouver...

If you defeat Nouver, you have a chance to obtain the Belongings of an Adventurer. Opening the Belongings of an Adventurer will grant you one of the following accessories (up to TET (IV) enhancement level).

- Ogre Ring

- Laytenn's Power Stone

- Eye of the Ruins Ring

- Orkinrad's Belt

- Valtarra Eclipsed Belt

- Narc Ear Accessory

- Basilisk's Belt

- Ring of Crescent Guardian

■ Black Magic Crystal - Assault

The Black Magic Crystal - Assault can be transfused into glove sockets, which then grants Attack Speed +2 and Grapple Resistance +5%.

■ Black Magic Crystal - Memory

The Black Magic Crystal - Memory can be transfused into helmet sockets, which then grants Casting Speed +2 and Knockdown/Bound Resistance +5%.

Black Stone (Weapon), Black Stone (Armor)

Black Stones are vital items for adventuring in the Black Desert world, allowing you to enhance your weapons and armor!

Adventurers who are playing on the season servers with Tuvala gear may not quite need them at the moment. But there will come a day when you outgrow your Tuvala gear at the end of the season so it’s a good idea to stock up on this must-have item.

■ Special Title!

Here’s a look at the special title, NuuuvAaannng!!

The title’s description says, “We started with a 'We,' but 'I' finished off Nouver! NuuuvAaannng!” So, you might be wondering, just how do you get this title?

You obtain it by being the one to deliver the final blow to defeat Nouver!

Holding this title is something that truly signifies your bravery so make sure to keep hitting Nouver until the end!
