Sorry if it has been answered somewhere, but I am curious when the beta will be available to download and how large the file size will be. 

1. No one knows the file size yet, I'm sorry.

2. It will be available to download on November the 8th, possibly right at midnight. 

Estimated file sizes range from 30 GB on up.... on PC right now the game is about 32 GB all together so I'd suspect 30-60GB'ish.

We in the dark like you,,..i do know this...any app,patch etc....theres a team in Ms that reviews it males sure there are no viruses, etc before it is uploaded to the store. Also fallout 76's next beta session starts sametime as Black Desert. It also would kind of defeat the  purpose of thebeta test if no one logged in as servers are turned on because of evetyone having to dl first. . I'm pretty sure it willl. be posted before it begins.

Odd, they usually allow a pre-download, so people can get started when it goes live. Oh well, I have fast internet, so won't be an issue for me. However, I feel bad for people with slower internet if that's the case.

That's what some folks are hoping for, but my experiences on XBL Microsoft Store with pre-orders always end up with download capability at midnight (some a bit later like the WWE2K18). Since they haven't announced otherwise and we are two days shy of the official beta, this may just be the case.

I don't think there will be a pre-load it's 5 days long usually betas are like 2-3, I'm going to start download at midnight and play when done.

Yeah sadly we might be waiting till it actually drops for download.

As others have said no idea what the exact file size will be. Only estimates at this point. But I feel for the download it won't happen until the moment Beta is out and then we can start downloading at midnight. Only 2 days to do though woot ! #hypetrain!

I didn't mean it like that. I've been following this game forever and waiting got the Xbox one release. I meant that it's just a beta in that it probably won't show up on the store until it's exactly time.

All good just check how the wording relates to the topic in the future

I've had a few xbox betas preload. But that's on the inside program. Doubtful this beta will be a preload. Although it would be a pleasant surprise if so.

The PC file sizes were optimized not so long ago and they were able to reduce the game files by about 20GB, they used to be around 50GB. Not sure if they have those capabilities on XB, but yeah the higher end of estimate sounds about right if they don't.
