I don't think there is any such utility on Console .

I believe PC version has it.

The only search function I've seen in profile in titles . In crafting for nodes / resources and recipes under catagories for lifeskills. Also there is boxes on menu for certain monster  area drops.

But I see nothing in any menu that would allow for a open entry search window for npc like Can't who is one hard to find guy near a stream by the bloody monastery. I needed him about a week ago.lol.

Can he get a addto console menu for NPC Search ?.

We need all the help we can get to knowledge catagories and energy

This feature exists and is a little hidden, you must add the NPC Search Funtion to a ring Menu.

If you are on PS4 console another option is to bring up world map and look at bottom of the screen. You can use L1 & R1 to select the nearest NPC to find. I'm sure it will be the same way on Xbox console as well.
