I was at Roud Sulphur Mine, and Afaru  appeared.  His quest drop quest had me searching for the kings treasure all over the desert I had exam and things I never looked at before ruins I never seen before. Eventually it led me to, arahaza in a hidden locker, was a laytenn's power stone (equivalent of an ogre ring).  Not being rich enough to smash, I sold for 220,000,000 silver.  But the timing of the quest with the observatory and searching through all the clues I had a blast!
