So I've noticed in chat on console. You can't say words like "something" or "class" or anything that contains the same letter combo as a "profane word" like "something" is censored to "so****ing" and "class" to "cl***" and so forth. It'd be nice if they added a profanity filter toggle like PC has or just fix the censoring entirely only allowing the actual "profane words" to be censored and not other words that have nothing to do with it. PA please address this issue. Thanks

I cannot agree more. This is the worst chat filter I have ever seen (sometimes it does not even tell you which word is wrong!)

looks like the game uses a similar system as Stellaris where words like Titan or Uranus gets changed to ***an or Ur**** but then again Stellaris is rated Pegi 7.

as for Black Desert a game rated Pegi 16, i'm surprised there is profanity censoring but then again were in the era of the easily offended.

a simple toggle for those easily offended should be added, even warframe has a profanity toggle.

however, due to the nature of toxicity in general and how chat and the mind set of some can often offend even the thickest of skin, thus resulting in a couldren of puke soup. Definitely an acquired taste!

I have ADHD/Aspergers and sometimes can say things that can cut with a knife for no other reason than to be brutally honest, what the chat system has done over the last couple years, has coaxed me to think twice before entering chat and my responses to toxic behaviour in the game, as I cannot stand bullies, sarcastic comments when a new player wants genuine advice or a pre pubescent argumentative nature just to amuse the toxic, so in turn I become toxic to the toxic!

Conclusion; the profanity filter isn’t as bad as you first think and once it becomes second nature it works as intended, a profanity blocker!

Yes but the profanity is effecting filter non-profrane words because it looks not only for offensive words but also words that contain offensive strings within them like the examples given.
