As the developers know the game for a lot of classes are based around FPS.  Can we please get a statement on why ps5 users have 60fps, while series x can go up to 120?  This seems completely unfair for one side of your community.  Since dps tied to FPS fix not coming soon especially to console.  Can you please explain why ps5 is the weaker machine.  Also can you please setup a cross save feature.  I don't want to play on my ps5 anymore and switch to series x.  Thanks 

Prob because there is no PS5 version. It's just the PS4 version on PS5. The PS4 is locked to 60 FPS and besides the point most console players can't even play above 60 unless you're playing on a monitor - which isn't most people 

Just a correction the Xbox doesn't have its own updated client.  It runs backwards compatible just the same as ps5.  The 60hrz screen is not a rebuttals to the question of the fairness of having one console far out perform another.  Just a FYI you can feel the smoothness of 120fps on a 60hrz tv.  That has been proven by shroud 

I would suggest using the internet to search the specifics on the reasons why, as this problem isn’t on PA but Sony. 

 I can however say with certainty that there is a firmware update in March heading to the PS5 for its hardware issues pertaining to a problem with the 120fps feature so maybe that’s a factor?

 and also say with certainty that Microsoft built the XSS/X with backwards compatibility in mind and not just shoe horned in to appease the crowd and marketed as such/main selling point; so most of the library on all Xbox generation  games will upscale, but sadly, only certain PS4 titles will benefit from higher FPS and the rest will just run better/smoother as per article I’ve read back in November.

Sorry for the extra info but I’m just reiterating from said articles to give more context and the reason why not all PS4 games have the option for 120fps as it’s a PS4 title as previously mentioned runs up to 60fps but this doesn’t mean the PS4 was built to cater 120fps for its back library, whereas Microsoft did!!!

 However there is a list for the 120fps titles from what I recall, but as mentioned earlier, search the internet for greater understanding!

Yes, you can play 120fps on a TV but the TV needs to support it and you also need the higher quality HDMI cable to do so and on top of that, configure the PS5 and the TV to do so, it’s not a simple plug and play as I’ve had to do the same for Xbox, you do not need a monitor, just a compatible TV!

The firmware update in March is to address the issue with TV support problems!

I do not understand why PA hates the Playstation 5 versions so much, an update was recently released with support for 120hz (although since the launch of PS5 many games already had compatibility with 120fps)

Again, Microsoft built the series x/s with backwards compatibility in mind, whereas Sony did not, Microsoft games only need a minor patch and PS4 games need a full port!

Thats a lot of work for just one feature, it’s not on PA, it’s down to how Sony built the machine!

Edit: So that's why the PlayStation 5 will not have 120 fps backwards compatibility right now: they don't allow PS4 games to reach that threshold, so it's not reached. Developers have better things to do than to port a game for one feature, so they don't do it. Hopefully Sony fixes this quickly, as it's a definite advantage for Xbox right now.

Personally, I think the backwards compat versions don't really matter. If the game runs a stable 60, that actually should be good enough for most. 

Now for where it actually really might matter, would be dedicated Next Gen Version. I guess we will get them at some time. I even assume that Playstation and XBox will pretty much get a feature parity (with maybe slightly cranked up settings for XBox due to being closer to PC Ecosystem) and 120 fps no longer being XBox only. 

However, when it comes to me - I would always choose a higher res, 60fps version with more details vs the more performant 120fps one. And I actually really really look forward to it. Because, you know, BDO can look awesome. But it doesn't really, even on next gen, because of rather low settings and abysmal resolution. 

We are talking about a game that has crossplay, while others have a 120hz option ...

and %99 of those "others" are playing on 60hz displays that don't even support 120hz

Were talking microseconds of delay. That matters in an FPS where you're precision aiming at a small fast moving target at a long distance that may not actually be exactly where you "think" you're aiming at it -not as much here in a game like this. Precision isn't the name of the game 

Even so, no pretext or argument serves to cover the truth, in which PA does not want to do his job well. That story that not everyone has televisions with 120hz and blah blah blah blah blah ... where did you get that data? Did you ask all XSX owners if they have a TV with that feature? Because you should know that before the launch of the consoles, the sales of 4K / 120hz televisions increased a lot, even to this day their demand continues.

And even if this was not the case ... why not have both players evenly matched? It's a shame, even Mihoyo is working on a new version for PS5 ... and even worse .... even ACTIVISION is making a native version of warzone for PS5 / XSX ..... because not PA with BDO on PS5? I'm sorry but continuing to make excuses for this whole thing is useless, it is simply incompetence on the part of PA.

Well, my replies have been in reference to the PS4 version as it’s also the same for Xbox one version, Xbox series X/S does not have its own version either, so you see, back to the original post PS5 v SXS both do not have their own version and the streams I’ve watched and when asked pertaining to their own native versions is met with “they cannot say at the moment”  without a definitive “no” this may suggest they’re talking about it and nothing  is concrete/set in stone!

Reverting back again, 120fps on older titles is down to how Microsoft and Sony look at backwards compatibility, Microsoft want its players to access its library on all platforms so 120fps has been available and obviously due to playing on PC so it’s a case of a patch, whereby Sony isn’t as dedicated in that regard and probably not thought about implementing the feature due to only having PS consoles!

Agreed, I would also like to know when XSX/S are getting a dedicated version also and also maybe why talks are in place and just for the reason of wanting players on an even field, making a native port for PS users and they may as well make native version on both due to the work involved to actually make a native PS version,Peace!

To make a native port, Pearl abyss have to have talks with Sony in regards to the matter, as a native port will take months to do, many thousands of pounds and an agreement with Sony as Pearl Abyss would essentially be making a new game and not just a simple patch as in the case with Microsoft machines already having 120fps in place for older titles!

Again, I hope this brings further clarification on 120fps and also dedicated titles, as I’m sure you will agree due to your frustration, PS5 having a dedicated port with all the bells and whistles and XBSX only having 120fps and a higher resolution would cause even greater problems!
