Would like to suggest color coding party members.

Have 5 colors

For example

Red

Purple

Yellow

Green

Brown

This way if you are in an area grinding, and one of your party members gets in trouble.  You can immediately head in that direction.  Instead of trying to open the map to see which direction that teammate is located.

Have the color be in their symbol, then also on the mini map.
