I've been doing some research into guessing the price of BDX. So when a game is sold digitally on the Xbox/Microsoft store it looks like they take around 30% of the price that it was sold at.
It looks like Black Desert was $30 for the base game, and since it was not sold through anyone it got the whole $30.
I did some calculations, and if Pa is aiming to get around $30 for each base game sold they would need to sell the game around the $44.99 mark.
I think it sells on steam for $10 with other deals that go up to $49
I'd guess basic package 20 quid up to 80 or 90 for the top package.. at a guess
Kakao gets profits ftom pc one their publisher so its probably skmilar in pricing.
For base game I could see as low as $40 but I'd guess it would be like a regular $60 title.
Not exactly sure the way they released it on pc, but Im thinking the structure will be similar to that. 30 USD so probably 40 CAD for those of us up north. That would be the base game with maybe a pet or preorder bonus, something small. Then have additional bundles with varying content, the more and better the more you pay. Its a pretty common model these days, which fine with.

I'm basing it off of the original release. It released through them (Pa) then went to steam after some time.
I also factor in that they just remastered the game, and probably wouldn't release it initially for a low price.
Also, if they released it for just $10 they would really be making only $7. Which is dirt cheap and they probably wouldn't make much money.

I think they'll sell it for $45+ or 60 for the base game because they can and no one will complain, not because they need to tho. They'll make money out their nose from the pearl shop that will dwarf the retail sales, imo.

Us up north always get the shaft...higher prices +13% tax to the fkn government, lol

I was thinking in the range of $60 (US) as well since that's the standard for new games and (like you said) who would complain? We'd finally be getting the game, so it would be a 'SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY' moment.
i'd have issue if this game was a full price or near full price game, considering is heavy lean on a cash shop, the $10 price is fine, and then buy some cash shop stuff. but if they were asking $40-$60 and then the cash shop on top, i'm out. because lets face it, there are some things in the cash shop everyone needs (sure yes you could go without, but not really lol)
i don't mind free to play (or close to it) with cash shop, but full price and cash shop, not a chance
$29.99 for intro pack
$49.99 for mid range pack
$89.99 for big daddy pack
I think everyone who thinks 30$Ish base game is probably gunna be right. 50ish and 80ish for the upper tier packages seems pretty legit also

Which I dont mind as long as they dont gouge us with value packs, valks crys , and art mems.
I'm happy to drop ~ 250$ for a top tier founder pack, my grind pets, and weight.
Along with the xbox gold membership.
No reason to let greed ruin the best game on the market.
No game is included with regular xbox live. Thats the terms xbox has to play multiplayer stuff/parties and what not , and I think it keeps it from being a mediocre service. I expect those prices plus $15.

It's confirmed buy to play. The game is worth $60 base for those of us who did not play pc imo.

I think it could hold up on that end, but not without bonuses. You have to add 30$-50$ to tje base game for weight, pets and inventory atleast. And youll probably want a costume for grinding, maybe a guille and deff the lifeskilling costumes that could push this over. This is why BDO has always had a cheaper entry price. Even on PC at launch

When Bdo launched originally in Na was the $10 version available?

^ exactly what he said. Its an amazing game, but at the end of the day its still an indie game. 29.99$ is the typical USD price for games of this caliber not from a AAA developer... BDO has been out for over two years on PC NA. Thus the smaller entry price.

People use to gift the game and get it cheaper if i recal, plus the polar bear pet (;
Console games are always more expensive than PC games. ESO was full retail price on release, FFXIV was full price on release (at least in my country) but initially both were subscription based so there was no strongly developed cash shop. Only after ESO went free to play did they add a lot of paid sh**.
Having that said, I don't see BDX cheaper than half of a retail price but purely because they will be earning a lot from the almighty pearl store.
I therefore see it being 29.99/49.99/69.99 EUR.
Can't really compare to PC , PC games are always so much cheaper because you can very easily steal them for free so they need to be smart on pricing to persuade. Steam sales and deals also have an affect so if it was going to be on par with PC as being a brand new game on Xbox I'd say.
Regular 40-50 deluxe 60-80 ultimate 100-120
But...
In reality I think they will push the game as a 60$ title (with some bonuses) then deluxe 80$ and ultimate 100$
see, i think they'll keep the price for base game low, and sell the value packs at higher.
Instead of worrying about price i hope they make packs have a nice value. If a 100$ pack has a 150$ value and it actually contains useful things such as pets instead of useless things such as decoration coupons i would be more likely to buy.
They are not going to charge $60 for a 5 year old game with a cash shop. It started at $40 on PC, so that's my guess. And as stated above, they will have premium packages that give pretty good stuff like pets and mounts.

Lets just say this, it currently costs $30 for a ported 5yo Dayz that's still in Game Preview... I can promise you this game will cost much more than that, lol
Pure speculation here but a few bundles no different than what’s here: https://m.blackdesertonline.com/shop/gamepass
$9.99
$29.99
$49.99
*Special Xbox bundle with some green outfit, Mount or housing item

I believe it started $30 on pc originally. It is indeed 5 years old, but they have spent the last year plus remastering the story, graphics, soundtrack, voicelines, and translation of the game.
For them to sell the game for $10 would probably mean they're not making money. While they have a cash shop, you don't have to spend money. Yes it will be harder compared to people who did but it isn't a requirement. That would be a gamble to say the majority of the player base will spend at least $50+. Especially since xbox (imo) has a bigger younger audience readily available.

True but look at games like warframe... free to play, free DLC and the player base support the devs via he cash shop for convenience items and because they WANT to support the devs making the game, if BDX is greedy players simply won't buy it, if the game is good and the community supported and listened to the cash will flow easily.
Personally I'm 38 and have no problem pouring money into my hobby of gaming but get turned of when games try to nickle and dime you for everything. Better to be honest, hey will ahve no problem selling a good product

yeah, i think people have finally go to the point now where they are not willing to take it anymore, EA helped see to that lately.
if it follows the PC model i'm happy with that 10 for the game (which is a good way to go, as it helps cut down on empty account, where people just get it cause its free but then never really play) infact i know console stuff tends to be more expensive, so i'd go with 20. then obviously can have different packs at higher prices.
but there is no getting around the fact this game heavily leans and encourages the use of the cash shop. it's always been one of the major complaints about the PC version for years.
