I missed the beta was wondering what was the population on server did it feel empty crowded and toughts on the future of the game will it have a stable player base ? Or xbox players are mostly casuals that doesnt fit a hardcore game like bdo

Well they had to add something like 6 new servers just to accommodate the amount of people during the beta. It could have even been more servers, I just know they added 3 new ones while I was playing the first day and the next day I hopped on and there was even more.

Also, everywhere I went in game there seemed to be people around so let's just say the population was rather high.

I believe they ended up adding 9 when its all said and done. I hopped around a few servers , they all seemed well populated. Was passing people frequently even out in remote areas. Lots of people in Heidel and the starter town. When you first created a character the beginner areas were packed and getting some kills on the more oncommon mobs could require some deft gameplay

Really, that many? I knew they added a lot, I didn't count though. I know they at least doubled the initial amount.

Every server I played was busy.. in Starter areas as mentioned you had to compete to kill mobs where it got so crowded, but the respawn rates were high so that helped a lot.

At launch I'd expect very high server levels in a month or so it will settle down to a core population then spike with each DLC.. normal format

PC version still has 10K players online right now, and that's just the ones I can see on Steam Charts. BDO has it's own client also, and a lot of people use that instead of Steam. And also that's 5 years after release.

Conclusion: it's going to be yuge.

I asked GMs if we get any stats after beta to see how many people actually logged in but no one replied to me. They might have ignored my question or didn’t want to answer because the number of players was small. ? People run BDO through bdo client so steam charts won’t tell the truth. It’s few million people because the game is really well populated in Asian countries with South Korea being #1.

I think a lot more ppl play outside Steam because it came to Steam after release so most people already bought it by then.

Very true. Wish there was a way to see the whole PC population, haha. Either way, 10K is already a lot for a PC MMORPG. The only other ones that high are like ESO and WoW.

Black Desert has recently celebrated 10 million players around the world. Google it.

It certainly thins out as the launch hype wares off.

If they arent milking us with P2W though... and the KR ,  NA / EU, MENA, and SEA PC versions catch wind there will be a mass exodus to xbox.

Greed is what makes the game die.

People get to duo / tri gear and start to realize that they can shell out hundreds of $ on Valks Crys and Arts Mems to increase their gearing speed 4x.

If they refuse to spend the money enjoy grinding 4x as much as people who do spend.

If the xbox version keeps these 2 items out of the shop this will be the most populated BDO server by a huge margin.

It all comes down to whether PA want to make a game for the players here or succumb to greed at our (and the games) expense.

Id even go as far to say... with blizzards recent detachment from its players (putting all their top developers onto mobile games) , BDO could surpass WOW if they play their cards right.

As players are turning against Blizzard as a whole PA could capitalize on that player exodus with a game (id say is just as immersive) that has dedicated developers that doesnt treat their player base like ****.... thats the dream.

You can say whatever you want about Blizz but they aren't stupid i can guarantee you that Diablo Mobile will make more money than any game they made before. Still i don't think its right betraying loyal fans expectations like that i mean its not like they aren't making enough money already...

I'm kinda on the edge of that statement, because as it stands the failure to live up to the expectations of the hype they created and couldn't control just lost them a solid chunk of money and playerbase, both current and future. Even if they do recover, they've started a pretty big dumpster fire and people have been adding onto it ever since the announcement including ex-devs.

Other than that i have no real opinion on the matter, and in all honesty, i hope this pushes more players into BDX when it releases. The more people we get, the more support the console version can get and the more populated the world and eco will be ?

I can assure you that all those people who cried will still buy their games and Diablo Mobile is not targeted at them anyway it is targeted at market where they don't have presence yet but want to tap into it since there is just too much money revolving there.

Idk, I think your underestimating the disappointment in the west.

D2 was my childhood. Easily 2000 hours into the diablo series and I'll never touch it again. Poe has my full support now.

I've raided and competed in wow 3's at a high level since Lich King in wow, pushing 2400+ every season... BFA was a disgrace and we have a clear reason why now.. the good dev's were all pulled off their PC focus to work on mobile IP' for every blizzard franchise.

Theyve completly betrayed their core community to pander to China. Theres bo denying it and were leaving in droves.

As you compete in high level 3' you build a friend list of the best arena players.

I logged in yesterday to see what's going on with the new raid currency and 90% of my friend list has been off for over 2 months. That's really saying somthing.

Blizzard really fucked up hard, and this is the time for other companies to step in and redeem the gaming community.  POE is doing a hell of a job picking up the diablo exodus. BDO can do the same with wow.

I don't like PoE  I mean on paper its great but in reality it just doesn't click and i cant really put my finger on why... It also doesn't help that devs practically abandoned XB1 development. So much for company for the fans.

It's pretty solid now.  The only thing I cant seem to find in the xbox version is the SSF option on leagues.  They get the same updates though.

People on the forums seem pretty unhappy with how their version compares to PC.

I'm sure for the first few weeks the population will be high, after the holiday rush of players itll slowly come down probably around February?

doesnt matter if the beta is any indication on how itll be! we're  good for a while

It should be pretty good, but I expect it to be less considering the world had to play on Na servers to play the beta.
