As I don't have an xbox yet, I wasn't there for the beta. How does the combat work?
I used to play complex classes like Tamer, Ninja, and Sorc. I know that at higher levels their inputs are very complex. (Especially tamer, because she NEEDS binds to be played properly) But also I've had friends who used controller and did really good on PC.
Obviously they must've optimized the game to suit controller even more, I just need to know how well it is optimized for controller. If anyone could elaborate on how this is that'd be appreciated. If you came from PC you probably know where I'm coming from

I've played with Sorc and Berserker up to lvl 40. Since I used Black Wave and DoD build I was super happy with how character responded to my inputs. Same with the Zerker. I would say that using left stick in four directions and RT and RB as mouse buttons works more natural on controller than on the keyboard. At least to me since I'm purely a console player.
Ring menu.. I'm not a fan of but it is good for out of combat things. For combat I see it only usable for a health potion or single skill like shard explosion (if you put only one thing on the ring menu d-pad it triggers once you press it). Other than that it has a large mistake % where you choose inappropriate skill next to one you really wanted to use. Again.. my own opinion.
Middle ground would be to slot up to 4 skills on a singe ring menu at 6,9,12,3 hour and just strife left, right, up, down.

You find enemies and hit buttons to attack.....for real though its a learning curve to get used to it but after a few hours I started to get the hang of it.

Honestly, i broke my rb during the beta
Its largely directional based. Think For Honor or Mortal Combat only you dont push directional keys multiple times only once per skill. As far as how there done, that will be up to you. Any controller can be edited with xbox accesories app to change any button youd like. You could make them work like ESO synergys (x & y) with the triggers and a colored button, mashing thumbsticks in. Whatever. You dont have to rely on BDO to allow you to reconfigure controls. Xbox does that already
Some classes have skills that currently atleast have no button mappins and require you to slow them to either a single dpad press, or holding the dpad button and using right stick in a direction to pick it. Depending on the class you might need more or less of these.
Once Awakening's are released I feel like I'm going to have a whole ring menu of moves.

Really? I never got my Awakening on PC for my Sorc, I was on the quest for it before my fan broke. But it looked like there was quote a few abilities that needed slots. Hopefully I don't need too many.

depends on classes.. and with reblams it just gets more complicated lol.. and then of course there are jin skills..

Huh, well thats good, the least amount of abilities dedicated to the ring menu the better. Thanks.
