Inclusivity Among Players

As a Chat Watcher, there is a player who has made two very great statements recently, I only caught the gist of them and they are not verbatim yet I got close to what I could remember.

“Please Perma Red Responsibility.”

And the second statement they made echoes perfectly against the first they had made following days prior.

“No apologies for PKing disabled players and almost giving them a Heart Attack? Shame on You.”

This last statement speaks volumes in regards to the community player base, that at least many of us know of a friend, family member, coworker or a stranger in our own personal communities with varying disabilities of either physical, mental, medical, emotional, age related, etc.. in our lives.

Players that have varying disabilities can excel at the game in their own field of expertise as PA has originally built the game to be. They can PvP like an experienced gamer that’s worked hard at their craft by putting in the time, dedication and work, or they can grind out PvE and Life Skill for hours on end.

However, there exists in the community of disabled players, players who know and are aware of the frustrations and the overwhelming limitations that come with being unable to improve their craft when it comes to PvP and it makes it even harder on them. Put yourself in their shoes, you’re just life skilling away or PvE grinding when you just get PK’d out of nowhere and you can’t defend yourself cause you didn’t or even had the time to react as that one dot on the mini map comes along in hardly a blink of an eye and in one skill attack, you’re down. All of that tranquil time now wasted as the sweet rotation you were in is now a murder scene, your murder scene. You become frustrated at either your physical, mental, emotional or age related disability that has limited you from smashing that one button in time or being able to turn the toggle stick quickly enough. And it all comes out in a slew of panic, emotional and mental stress. It's suffocating, drowning and heartbreaking all at once.

Sounds familiar? Yes, it does cause even humans who don’t have disabilities can react the very same way however they can bounce back and be able to defend themselves. Yet there exist players who don’t feel the need to fight back and just move on. Non-confrontational and non-combative.

Disabled players are human and they deserve a Safe Space to be able to play Black Desert in peace, without the stress that comes along with the fast pace, demanding and super focused aspect that comes with PvP. They have a right to be able to play the same games that every other player can play, to be able to play the same games as us. Our friends, family members and other people in our own personal communities that are disabled have every right to play alongside us in the world of Black Desert.

There is  just one solution that can be proposed to PA in order to give players of all disabilities the right to be able to play in a Safe Zone without the stress all day long.

Turn all of the Number# Two(2) servers into GvG only. The PvP Mechanic is Prohibited and can’t be used. Calpheon - 2, Mediah - 2, Balenoes - 2, Serendia - 2, Florin(XB) - 2 and Port Epheria(PS) - 2 servers as GvG only. Maybe not all at once, perhaps Port Epheria, Florin and Balenoes as more like a test and if it turns out to be a success with positive feedback, turn the rest, Mediah, Calpheon and Serendia into GvG only. This will then leave only the One(1) servers open to freely PvP to players hearts content. The servers themselves will be represented by an icon of either joined hands or a camping tent meaning “Safe Zone” or “Inclusive.”

Now while the number of PKer’s out there who do good work in keeping the peace, others have some very very very bad intentions and don’t discriminate as to who they target, when they strike and don’t give a care for the location. And Yes, only PA has those numbers, yet they cannot deny that some very bad and rotten fruits are causing and stirring up chaos and toxicity that can and will hurt the player base, even a minority such as disabled players can be hit the worst.

I do have or know many friends/people with disabilities and love the game just as much as I do, yet it’s very frustrating to them when they get PK’d faster than you can say “Oh!” And many of them have constantly expressed wishing for a Safe Space to go to do their Life Skilling and PvE all day long. That Marni’s realm is not enough for them, it’s too short and doesn’t live up to its full potential. It’s frustrating for me to hear it from them, knowing that I myself can’t do anything for them in game as well and they know my status too. We all feel the doom and gloom when specific players get into chat and just drag the game’s atmosphere down the drain cause the whole community knows who they are.

Pearl Abyss, it is time to turn your flagship game, Black Desert, to be all Inclusive for disabled players. To join the fold and lead it as more and more game developers are making their games Inclusive to disabled players.

To the players who are behind in backing Inclusivity, please upvote and please give a positive comment to the disabled community, every word goes a long way.

AND to the players planning to leave hateful and mean comments, just DOWNVOTE and move on. Your words don’t hold any weight because to put it in the same words I see being thrown around that is extremely biased, “GET BETTER."
