Hello I am looking to join a guild to hit the ground running @ launch. I have never played bdo but was always interested. I have played  many other mmo's FFXI,WOW,FFXIV and Guild Wars 2 mostly  but there have been a few others. My playtime is mostly 6-midnight [MST] weekdays and  varies throughout the weekend

They were not in at the time of beta.  The nodes in the map can be fought over by guilds. The guild members build bases and essentially try to wipe the other guilds based out in that region while protecting their own. Once a week each node comes up to fight over, last base standing wins the node.  The winners get a silver tax payout from their node which is split up by the members of the guild that owns that node, some being more valuable than others.  There are also seiges which are similar but for controll I've a whole reigon instead of a node. Seiges are for the largest and strongest guilds and provide much more tax $ to the members.
