I want to make this post so the GMs/CMs can see how many of us couldn't use a name or family name because of the strict text filters. If this is beta only cool, if not THIS NEEDS to be addressed quick.

To prevent people from taking names, just post that you had an issue with not being able to use part of you names. If it was perverted or racist I dont blame it for being blocked but ill give an example.

Ranger - is blocked

Nightshade - is blocked 

Coral - is blocked

Knight - is blocked

I tried a few names from my PC account and they didnt work. I'm not dumb i see what would be causing it, but you cant be THAT sensitive and if someone is being dumb with a name just let us report it and make them change it after a 24-72 hr ban. All those names on PC totally fine and go through, but not here on BDX. 

Really since its Xbox one you should not be allowed to make another name it should be your gamertag that's how every other game online for Xbox one works.

This actually makes a ton of sense but it seems they just ported that over from PC.

Regarding whats blocked in the OP...those should be blocked for obvious reasons.

Box has first name and family name so you'd still have to come up with character names for all your characters.....and frankly I don't want my gamer tag to be my family name Sonim glad they're doing it this way.

yeah i got a message back from the GMs and it sounds like it is being overly sensitive to certain phrases. They said "Thank you for bringing this up to our attention. We are aware of the issue about the Character/Family name that is being blocked since it includes filtered words. Rest assured that this will be fixed as soonest possible." 

So fingers crossed it's fixed by launch.

Horoscopes have absolutely nothing to do with the game. EARLY on we had tinfoil that certain ones had certain advantages, but never anything ever was proved or was found out. So its a personal choice of what you think your character is.  I will be using a Shield, and a Black Dragon for my two characters that i play, and probably use black dragon on everything else for energy and house fame fund alts.

yah im choosing Boat on the Full version im assuming that its a Personality trait ?

Those names contain nig, oral, and idk about ranger.

yeah i know, I just didn't want to write that on a forum and get a temp ban. But its shouldn't be that sensitive. Sure if it was those with a space or a _ i'd get it but not every word that has those few letters are bad. 

I tried "bungle" last night and it said it was not allowed, odd one to ban

I tried different variations with night,pretty names could not make. Night,knight should not be banned...

Yeah the filter is unfortunately strict. I'll continue to bring it up in meetings and see if we can get it modified to be more forgiving.

Maybe add an option to disable the profanity filter?

Could we get an official response to this before Launch so we know at launch on March 1st if the filter has been addressed or not. This way we aren't shocked to see it doesn't let use certain names. 

And by official I just mean a solid response No - we didn't get to the filter before launch, or We did dial it back, but contact us if your name didn't work and we can check to see why? If you don't have it address right away its 1,000 pearls (about $10usd) for either a family name change or a character name change coupon, for those of use who couldn't pick harmless names that the filter was over sensitive towards. 

At launch, from what I've been told, the name filter will be laxer (chat filter is unaffected by name filters, and may get an update of its own). We will try to monitor names as much as possible, but reports to CS would also help us to keep the names clean if something DOES sneak through.

Awesome, thanks for getting an answer to this! I will be marking this off my CM/GM post   I will keep CS updated if it still doesn't let any of my names through. 

On pc coral is still blocked from chat and name due to oral its kinda funny. But the others are a little overboard.

Oh Lord, how far have we become in this world where dead, war, blood and violence is in every days news but something perfectly natural since minimum 300.000 years like oral is a bad word?
