Apart from the endless grinding/pvp what is there to do with friends?
Roleplay. Because everything in the game is a grind of one way or another. Killing for xp...grind. farm knowledge...grind. work on life skills....grind. wealth empire....grind. train skills...grind.
So if u wanna do something thats not an endless grind then roleplay. It is a role playing game
This is true, roleplay to the true extent of the word, if you have friends playing. However, even roleplaying will be limited. I did some roleplaying too in BDO. Be warned this game is beautiful at first but very shallow, repetitive in the long term. It will only last you 1 or 2 months before you get bored and stop playing for good. Endgame is just PVP. There are no classes in the game, no roles, no tanks, no healers, everyone is a ninja style spam attack spam spam spam no skill no class no strategy needed. I loved the PVE lifeskills for a period but they get repetitive fast and then you realize why are you repeating the same boring stuff everyday only to see a tiny bar go up from professional 1 to professional 2, etc., each time it goes up slower. You see a bar go up, that's it, the whole point of lifeskilling. No point really. Gets very repetitive in the long term and you will get bored because it's shallow in the long run, empty. I'm not hating on the game, I liked it for a while but it has some issues and this shallowness is what kills it in a few months. It doesn't have the depth and longevity of other MMOs.

BDO is unique and, after 4 years, is still one of the best and most played out there, expanding to new regions and platforms constantly while being successful. If you are bored of playing this game after 2 months then you are not experiencing the games full potential.
And while you are quite entitled to your opinion, BDO is far from a shallow game. It has one of the most complex and in depth lifeskilling systems you will see in any MMO. I get that the game is not everyone's cup of tea, its not like the usual themepark dungeon grinders where you get top gear in 2 months and then wait for an expansion.

You can do relics and boss scrolls, join the same guild and do guild missions/pvp, you could do Savage Rifts if we have them in our version, you could quest together, hunt seamonsters, do RBF's.
When Shadow Arena comes there is a group battle royale you could team up for too.
Its definitely not the most social game out there and, while there are some things you can team up for, you will probably be playing solo a lot.

2months?? Must have low attention spam or got pked by a mystic or striker lol. Bdo is the best game on the market.
we're at least 3 that are getting the game, maybe 5 in a while. so i hope we get those things from the get go .

Lol best game? What a delusional cringeworthy fanboy. You don't have a brain as you are one of those kids who will say "spot taken" and then you run away after u kill the person 2 times cuz u r too scared to lose karma so you end up losing your spot when you say "spot taken" lol dumb.

So what game is better? I'll wait

Oh believe me I experienced everything in the game, that's why I know how it is. It's not only me who says this, there are videos on youtube saying the same thing, why the Black Desert experience ends after a few months and almost everyone leaves once they reach level 56 or 58. Except the elitist tryhards but those people are sick anyway.

Dude I played other deeper MMOs, I know BDO is beautiful but shallow like a hot girl on the outside without real content inside. I really loved lifeskilling for a while so yeah it is my cup of tea but after some days it gets boring and repetitive fast. Always the same thing everyday, no point. It's not about getting top gear at all, I don't care about that, I'm not elitist.

Lol no brain pew pew battle royale. As if there's not enough battle royale games out there already.

Finally you said something that is true. Compared to other MMOs, BDO is very weak in social terms. In other MMOs, it was quick to find someone to talk to, or interact with. Not in BDO. Everyone is running around like a drone doing the same repetitive stuff everyday, no interaction whatsoever. Even people who fish everyday in the same place and are next to other players never talk or interact whatsoever. They are robots. And I'm not talking when they are AFK. When I see them moving back and forth to sell. They don't interact.

As I said in my previous comment, there are many videos on youtube showing the same shallow reality I talked about in this game. Just search youtube for "why people quit the bdo experience".

just going from one topic to another spreading all these subjective opinions. What's your point man....

Im right there with ya. But on a more serious know. Why do people quit bdo? Its the same reason they quit other games. Its to "hard", it takes effort, people in the US cant handle a real korean grind game, oh and my favorite...everything isnt handed to them.
Where are the OG gamers from UO, EQ, AC, lineage 1 who spent months playing a game for pure enjoyment and a feeling of accomplishment. Kids now a days are spoon fed everything and quit when it doesnt go their way.

Millennial fanboy triggered? Reading the truth hurts u? What's your point defending bad business practices who hurt every gamer? Lol cringey. I'm sharing my opinion so that new players are better informed and wake up. People should choose to NOT purchase or purchase after doing some research.

Freedom in Black Desert is one of the best aspects of the game.
He thinks those terrible youtube videos will stop people from playing lol what a joke

If you read my arguments and you watch the videos, you understand some real reasons to quit, the game is shallow, gets repetitive fast with nothing to do after you've seen and experienced everything in 2 months. I've played other MMOs who have much bigger longevity, have lasted me for years, not every game is the same.
As for kids these days, it's sad, no brain, they are spoiled by parents who can't educate them properly, they are spoon fed everything. They spend a lot of money on full games like this one and don't even play it. When they launch the game they just want to ask other players for all the endgame items for free so they skip the whole game, not play it at all. It's so dumb, not the point of a game really.

Oh yeah u got triggered all right with my comments showing the truth lol that's why you replied like that.
I'm not a hater. If you read some of my comments you see I give real arguments, I also said I loved the pve lifeskills for example. I "LOVED". Can u read? Opposite of hater. But I'm not a blind fanboy like you, I saw the problems and i tell the truth.

Poor guy probably enchant blew up gear and raged quit lol now he is here on forums crying

Welcome to korean grind games, but its a sandbox game so you make what u can of it.
Look at World of Warcraft. Considered the titan of the industry yet u can experience everything in 2 months. Oooo an expansion, lets pay $60 so i can experience all this new.....and ive cleared it before the weekend is done.
Games now a days have lost the 1 major focus that made old games last, social aspects. And yes bdo has those issues like every game now does. Instanced housing, trade markets, lfg features. There is no need to use chat or talk to your fellow gamers anymore and that truely is where most games fall apart

Other MMOs have better tools for social interaction. One of the biggest problems with BDO is its interface and menus, so bad. They have the technology to build a really good modern interface but fail miserably. The interface is so buggy. Take friends list for example, doesn't work lol. No point in adding friends, when you send them a private message, they don't even get a sound or notification, no way of knowing.
Not everything is bad. I enjoyed BDO general chat, it can be funny with some jokes said there and the lack of mods, lack of censorship is great in a day and age when there's no freedom of speech anymore in most social networks like Facebook. Censorship never works.
Some of the problems with social interactions in BDO boil down to its poor interface and mechanics. Actions and movements that should be fun, quick, are not. Actions like climbing on your horse, getting off your horse, getting off your wagon, some emotes, are really slow, clumsy, can't get interrupted, take a very long time. This is an example of a poor game mechanic that really destroys social interactions. Emotes are there, sure, that is in theory fun, but their poor implementation takes away all the fun. They take a long time to cast, are not easily used. Other people don't even notice if I'm doing emotes because the visualisation is not good. I could go on and on with examples of interface and mechanics problems like this.
