Is there a way to make your helmet show when wearing it? 

i'm not on the game at the moment, but if i remember correctly, you go to your inventory, then 2nd tab, you'll see boxes under your costume (it shows helm, chest, mask, etc), these can be toggled on/off..

Yeah I’ve tried that, didn’t work. I think that only affects pearl items. This is a plain old metal helm found at a blacksmiths. Guess they don’t show.

That checkbox effects the hat on my witch, it's just a regular piece of armor. 

I think theres two options for the helmets with face shields in that menu, one to hide thd helm and another to open the face shield. Try to toggle them both.

not really sure what does or doesn't, but it would make sense if they make everything show.. so you show everything Shudad except the helm lol

I got a “Dobart Helmet” and nothing shows on equipping. 

Just outfits from store and some high level gear shows helmet........ ?

I recently bought outfit for my Musa from the Pearl store, the red robe outfit, and helmet does not show at all, even if I toggle off to appear visible or not. I even equipped it again and again. I'm not so satisfied with this as I used up the 2900 Pearl's for this outfit "with" the helmet. I just deal with it now lol.
