This is the first time I've used my Xbox for something other than charging my cellphone or watching Netflix in a very... very long time. I spend most of my time gaming on PC, but this MMO has translated so well onto the Xbox I can see it becoming my main waste of time for the near future. BDO on Xbox won't suffer from some of the same problems the PC version does, and the controls seem to translate fairly well onto a controller. I was dead afraid of performance problems being a guy use to 144+ FPS while on a PC... but the One X seems to do alright.
My only complaints would be the following...
1. Let us scale the UI / move elements around / switch spots on the screen
I play at my desk, but even while on the couch I don't imagine needing the chat window to take up 25% of the screen or for the text to be so big. Give us font sizes and the ability to shrink that window with a more condensed font. Wouldn't mind other elements being smaller and to be able to choose a size for each element separately. Also... let us hide each of them at our own will. I don't need that bottom UI showing the D-PAD functions at all. One last thing... some of the UI doesn't look very burn-in friendly for those of us with Plasma screens or other TV panels where that is a potential problem.
2. With MS pushing for the Xbox to have greater M&K support I am confused why that isn't a thing for BDO
The game would clearly benefit from mouse and keyboard being natively supported on Xbox. For people like myself with a disability which makes using a controller annoying it would be one of the best thing the developers could introduce.

Really glad I took the dive. I can't wait to see how the Xbox version here evolves compared to it's PC counterpart. There being no way for bots to do anything will make things interesting.
I agree 100%. other console MMO ports could definitely use Black Desert as inspiration (looking at you Tera). Besides lack of UI customization my other complaint would be to have full control of the interface like PC does. For example, turning in or accepting quest it would be nice to somehow hover over the icons listed and receive a brief description of what exactly it is. I'm constantly receiving rewards listed that I honestly have no idea what the icon is supposed to represent.
M&K support would work only if they add M&K specific servers since it would provide unfair advantage and even then its unfair since with M&K u can farm much faster on many classes. Also MS is not pushing M&K support they only added it as a choice for devs who want to utilize it.
I'm so in agreement with you !
I know the UI customization is something they said they are working on. As for keyboard/mouse they said no due to the game being rebuilt specifically for controls. I know that you have a specific need, and Xbox recently added keyboard and mouse support too...so it stings. Sorry.
yeah if you wanted to use mouse and keyboard you should be on a pc. I totally agree, that this is one of the best console mmo's' ive played. the customization is unreal, you basically do what you want after lv50 which is great. I'm starting a wood building empire in trent forest.
I enjoy it more on xbox than on pc.
I don't know why the only problem I have so far is the performance in 4k and the screen tearing which can be fixed by enabling games vsync with a patch or something.
And one last thing as you mentioned the game is not plasma or Oled friendly.
I play on Oled so I need to be able to remove all ui elements at will.
A healthbar/stamina appearing only when in combat would be great for us with Oled screens.

Vsync would only limit fps to 30 since its purpose is to limit fps fluctuations below 30 and in between 30 and 60 (or above 60) and Xbox cant handle constant 60fps.
V sync will limit fps to 60 for 1080 and 30 for 4k for this game.
Limiting 4k to 30 is much smoother experience than upside downs.
If your TV has smooth option as well then the game looks even smoother as soon as vsync is on.
4k frame rate currently falls below 30.
Vsync purpose is to synchronize frame rate with monitor/TV and it eliminates screen tearing its not limiting fps only you can have vsync with 240fps if your system (constant 240)and TV hz support it.
