My friend is starting a character later this week. I wanted to buy some starting equipement for him. Can i trade him these items or give him silver for potions?

No There is zero player trading in the game outside of, as far as I understand, dropping of some food items and potions. 

 Putting items up on the central market place for sale is the only way players can “trade“ between each other, and though I know absolutely zero about the mechanics behind it what I do know is that it is not simply a “put item up for X, bid on items for X“ system. 

It’s all locked down. Tell him to buy some pearls like PA designed

Easiest way to stop the gold sellers. They have no way to give you anything without you having them farm it.

Errr...you can buy Pearl Shop items for real $$ then turn around and sell the items on the Marketplace for silver, correct?

And when the Pearl Shop has huge sale or discounts on items, your Siver just got cheaper.

So basically, you can buy Silver yourself which technically cuts out ‘gold sellers’. But is it really any better?

When you buy items on the pearl store and sell them for silver you support the game and the developpers. Part of that money is used to run the servers and release updates and new content, which we got a hell of a lot of on pc. 

You get your silver, someone gets an outfit without playing real money AND it contributes to keeping the game healthy and thriving. 

Win win win.

My personal opinion on this is if it stops gold sellers then it’s a good thing. 

If wallet warriors want to spend cash on the pearl shop which goes onto supporting the game that’s fine with me also.

And I wasn't going to get into it but for those who feel the need to always point out the things in a game they don't like...yet continue to play or at least lurk on forums...maybe try to be a little positive with your criticism. Call it constructive criticism. Otherwise you just come off as trying to ruin everyone else's experience which I know is not your intent.

Farming 20mil can take les than 2 hours if you do it right. While you consider paying 30ish USD to get 2hours worth of in game money pay to win, others, like myself, are happy to buy stuff with in game money instead of real cash.

Oh stfu...honestly. I’m mearly pointing out that selling silver exists. Players that are new might not understand that and wonder why Pearl shop items sell on the Market Place.

You act like this is the best MMO that ever existed and it’s almost cringe worthy how sunshine and rainbows you are around here.

Stop defending BDX in every post where other players have negative game experiences and want to express their opinion.

BDX is a korean grinder and a second job. It’s not a new game. It has issues that are well documented. 

But with all that said, it’s a solid MMO for console, but not the best.

Spin it however u want. In free games with cash shops its generally because of these "whales" that a game can stay in business and push out content.

Do u really think they could survive off a simple $10 one time purchase price and giving us free future content not locked behind dlc walls? If u do u might wanna share your multi trillion dollar idea to....i dont know, every business model in existence

You completely missed the point. I didnt say I was against the Pearl Shop. I swear ppl don’t read...they just react.

I said there is a fom of buying silver with real $$ in BDX In essence, ‘gold sellers’ supported by PA itself.

 PA could still have a Pearl Shop and sell items, but they should make them BTA. Bind to Account. That way they can’t be sold on the Market Place for silver.

I get how it can seem unfair but players need some way to convert their time spent outside the game to in-game silver or else they'll never stand a chance against the no-lifers. If you ask me, PA was smart to cut out the gold sellers and fill that need with a system that benefits both the players and the company. Whether we like it or not, there is a demand and the question is whether it be supplied illicitly or constructively. My cousin and I argued for days once about whether or not BDO can be considered pay-to-win and I still just don't see how it can be considered that when you can make more silver by spending the time earning silver in game.
