First rank house, but can't invest in specialty nodes

I paid the $100 for early access. I got 3k pearls and used them to decorate a house, which in Heidel put me on the top rank by more than 500 points above the next user on the house list. I went to invest in a specialty node in the Heidel chain, and it gave me the same message as before... I need a first rank house... Am i missing something?
