I've never played BDO until it came to Xbox, but I did play Perfect World many many years ago. This is what made me buy BDO because I loved Perfect World International and squee'd when I saw the game's previews and videos on Microsoft Store. I've noticed a lot of BDO aspects similar to PWI, but I wanted to ask whether PWI has any actual links to BDO's Pearl Abyss, or is the game format just a common framework for all MMORPGs these days? I wouldn't know because I'm just a casual gamer, so just thought I'd ask and see what the feels are. I haven't seen any blademasters riding flying swords yet, though.

There is no correlation between PWI and BDO in terms of development teams or publishing company. But the correlation can be found in the means of the genre.

No blademasters on flying swords, but there will be a chance to make a flying horse from what i've heard.

The aspects that might bond BDO and PWI can be the open world pvp and the typical farming-based gameplay common to all asian MMORPGs.

There's no holy trinity in BDO. Meaning there's no proper tank, no proper healer. Only DDs that have more or less way to hold aggro or support the group/themself with heals/buffs.

There are links between our game and a few Korean MMORPGS (Ryl online), but I dont think there is anything with PI
