Hello I love this game but one thing that bugs me is the nights are not dark enough. sometimes I don't even know its night time....

can we please have darker nights? just think how fun PVP could be if you could hide in the darkness and how dangerous it could be going out at night.... it would also make lanterns and lights more useful... also you have to think if I use a lantern people will see me with it in the night... it could add so much fun challenges...

I mean just look at this picture with darker nights look how beautiful it is.

what night would you pick?

So long as the dynamic lighting effect is being used I'm happy with things as is, maybe even a little brighter.

Actually what I want is some god dang graphical options, now that would be awesome. --Momentai :3

I prefer the Alpha SS. Let’s be real here. You want to see HDR attach itself to those CBT environments? Hells no. It would be pitch black.

For me, the current dadkness...is good.

They could just add various night modes depending on the moon level. 

For example a full moon could have the current brightness and as the moon decreases it goes darker and darker. 

Way to finally use these items for light

I would also like nights to be longer. 

Nights feel good man!

I think there are enough issues with dark lighting as is. When you enter a pitch black room in the shadows and then the game tales a good  second or two to adjust the lighting, yea...thats not ‘normal’. 

Also, Black Desert Online use to have lanterns that you could turn off and on, immersion was more real. Now we get fireflys that we can’t turn off. 

Think we are good where it is. But that’s more me fearing if the devs tweak it more, we run into majot HDR issues.

Lanterns were cool.

Hdr issues will be fixed probably. 

In every update I see improvements not in all areas but still. 

I just a matter of time. 

It would be a different game, but yeah. I've always laughed when I'm just doing my thing and realize it's 2 am in game, bright as day just with a moon for a sun instead. It would mean more fireflies and more shadows and more trolling and more scares and more dynamic... yeah it'd be a different game. 

I just feel that night and day look exactly the same it's not dark enough to call it night.

The problem most people are having with the brightness/darkness changes are not HDR related, it the Eye Adaptation effect which is overtoned. Simply changing the world illumination setting up a bit solves the violent change. Source: Unreal Engine. The effect is exactly the same for the default settings and world lighting. (They said they use a custom engine but I'm having my doubts).
