U may not have the proper knowledge of processing

you need skilled 10 gathering, and professional 5 processing on the same character, then do a series of quest to make pure crystals.

Yep there is a quest chain that requires you to be Skilled gathering and pro 5 processing.  You will also need to the do the life skills quests that grants the following:

Have knowledge on Shaking: Beginner
Have knowledge on Drying: Beginner
Have knowledge on Filtering: Beginner
Have knowledge on Grinding: Beginner
Have knowledge on Heating: Beginner
Have knowledge on Chopping: Beginner
