It's a feature PA is trying. They're giving out a set of soft cap gear for 7 days. It's not boss gear or anything so it's not BIS. It is a huge help though to new players and, even players who do not have the time/money to grind out from their current GS to softcap. Community feedback is very split on the feature for a few reasons. 

1.) Takes away from part of the end game experience (whether you find it enjoyable or not enhancement is part of it and so is the grind).

2.) Some people feel like because they had to work for their GS that others should have to as well.

3.) Some like it because, enhancement is just pure RNG cancer that no one enjoys unless, you have amazing luck or, you love self torture.

There's a few more reasons that are self explanatory on why and why not people like the idea. Also if you have not subscribed to Lighthouse i highly suggest you do. Very calm, very informative, nice guy who uploads almost every day. His videos are always very in depth and non biased. 

I'd probably quit if I busted my ass for gear and since a new player joins they get free gear to catchup to me? Better give me full PEN then....or you know don't give out free gear!

there will always be some sort of catch up mechanics in a pvp game. I'm to busy to watch the video and honestly I don't really care as this won't be in the Xbox version for years.

I did not watch the video just replying to the idea it self. 

I like the idea of soft cap gear especially that I had the same thing in Tera sure it was rookie sets that helped me to farm mats and the real gear what really helped out but because this is BD I'm against something like that for this game as, as I mentioned several times before in different topics getting gear is easy sure might be not boss gear but the gear to fight for it and even if your a new comer to a latter game there's no excuse for that person to not be able to catch up or even surpass older players in terms of gear. .. 

Yes this game is time consuming as FK and it truly is, I do realize I wont be as geared as people that play the game 10h+ each day when I can do tops 3h +/- depending if its a day off work but give it some time and even I can get decent or even top tear gear, the only issue is that ALL players face even with Top Tear Sets:     Enchanting  R N G     Its the one thing  we worship and hate at the same time but all of us have to face it in order to progress.

BD is a game where you wont have short cuts and it should not have them, you want gear than work for it, is it grinding for days to get that one item, building a capital to be able to snipe items from AH or try your luck with the NPC *whos name I again forgot ... each method required dedication and time so as a but loud of luck and the path for it is entirely yours to pick.

I think its essential in older servers on PC since the gap between beginners and hard cap is insanely high. This way they could at least catch up and not feel totally left out of the game.

Completely useless (duhh) in new servers like the upcoming xbox release.

How much are you effected by the gear now? Because right now they have it, but it only last 7 days and you have to claim it by next month or something. Does the game seem different? Is it noticeable when someone has it on?

Im curious to how its effecting pc. 

Also for the people who dont wanna watch it (first 10 min) its already a thing theyre trying out on pc. It only last 7 days once you open the package for it.

It only crossed my mind after i made the post in this case it would be handy but I only would prefer if such a option is applyed to brand new players or returning players lets say 1+ months absence for the returning it would not play such a big benefit as most would have better gear anyways that's if they did not slack off but for newer players that would be a good boost in grinding but and there is always a but it has the same flaw as power leveling only in this case it would be like buying +15 and leveling a new character you would most of the time one shot mobs resulting in a bad experience on that class so as lack of combo understanding. Don't get me wrong I like to take a short cut my self but to build a good understanding of what you can and can't do on your class is essential sure it's a nice feel to one / tow shot things but in the end it does not benefit your ower all experience even if it's a timed boost I'd much more prefer some stat boosts with a time limit that would grant me to hit harder and give better damage absorption and a stat boost would as well benefit returning players more than gear.
