I've noticed this the last 2 or 3 times I've taken screenshots, and I'm not exactly sure why this could be. When I take a screenshot from my Xbox, it comes out about 2 or 3 shades darker than what I actually see ingame. especially around the face of my characters.

anyone else seen this with their screenshots?

Yep, I’ve had this issue since I started taking screenshots. I find it’s worse when the game is in a dark area, and mind you this applies to nearly every game I play. I have a OneDrive account that has thousands upon thousands of screenshots and I have to deal with us anytime they’re taken in a “low light” situation.

 Sorry my reply doesn’t give you a reason, it’s more of a misery loves company kind of thing. ? Just know you’re not alone and for me usually using whatever editing tools I have at my disposal takes care of it.

for me though, it's only this game that does it. any other game I take a screenshot in, comes out just fine. only in BDX is the screenshot darker than the screen.

when I get home from work I will re-check my graphic settings ingame and see what comes of it.

Hummm. I suppose your correct for me that it’s not EVERY game but enough of them to make me feel that way. ?

Turn off HDR on the screenshot if you are going to view them on a none HDR source.

you got it. hmm, so you think it's the HDR that's causing the issue? can I set my Xbox to take 4k non-HDR screenshots?

I really don't want to turn off the HDR ingame cause it looks freakin great.

No...on the screenshot, it should say HDR on or off. It says it on the Capture section of the screenshot after/during it ‘uploads’

It can capture in glorious 4k HDR, but you can then set it to non HdR

I do not see this option anywhere. also, I do not see an option to not take 4k HDR screenshots, I only see options for resolution for game clips. even if I set it to 1080p, it still takes 4k HDR screenshots. i'll keep looking.

it didn't work. screenshot was still uploaded as 4k hdr, i guess i'm just gonna have to live with dark screenshots until there is a better solution because it seems like the only way to get regular screenshots is to turn off my 4k hdr, and i'm not doing that.

I uploaded a screenshot to Onedrive and it saved a 4k hdr screenshot and a .png image for it. but it doesn't seem like it helped the lack of brightness any. i'll have to take more screens to test.

huh. took some screenshots of my Musa after the update this morning...they came out a lot better, I think.
