Bug description:
I cannot select a cooking utensil that is out of durability to get rid of it. It flashes on the screen, “Cannot Place On Another Placement Object.” Please fix. If I select a working cooking utensil I can pack it up, but I want to pack up a non-working one.

why is this still an issue? here I am looking for a solution a *year* later and all I see are these dead threads :/

Did this today on xbox.
It's annoying to select/deselect each tool till right one highlights then hit X to pick up.
Even if you lay them in order, it somehow scrambles the order.
