So i’ve scoured the Googles and it seems this questline bugs alot.

- I have the green Dim Magical Dagger(Wizard) and I’m trying to upgrade it. 

- I am a sliver away from lvl 56 and seem to have completed Mediah questline because my Black Spirit is small again.

- I finished all those quest that the Black Spirit gave for kill X, felt like a 100 different ones. World of Enemy?

- I talked to the Calpheon npc that is supposed to give replacement DIm Armor(just to check the armor quests) if you lost it, he doesn’t offer the option

- I talked to the tree spirit town lady (Seyma or w/e) who is suppose give the DIm Secondary quest, she isn’t offering anything

Is it safe to delete the Green DIM secondary weapon and the game will give you the quests again so i can actually upgrade the DIM?

Did you talk to you black spirit in calph or mediah?  Sometines certain quest only show up in certain territory 

I'm in the same boat with my wizard. I gave up but I didn't try deleting the weapon. Let me know how if you do it and it works. 

Ok, so after two support tickets, I still do not have my initial question answered. 

If the Black Spirit will not trigger these quests? How am I supposed to get the quest?

I have repeatedly stated in the 2 support tickets, very simply: 

THE BLACK SPIRIT IS NOT PROVIDING ME WITH THE QUEST CHAINS

On 4/5 after exhausting my efforts looking for these quests, I submitted my first Support Ticket

On 4/7 I received a reply that I wasn’t done with World of Enemies #6:. That was Wrong. 

On 4/7 I replied back with another Support Ticket asking support to look at my completed quest history (since we cannot)

On 4/11 Support confirmed i was indeed done with World of Enemies #6. Then went on to tell me I needed to finish ‘A Familiar Aura’. /facepalm

And......so....the quest A Familiar Aura is a Black Spirit quest. HOW DO I TRIGGER THE BLACK SPIRIT TO GIVE ME THIS QUEST???

It great that you contimie to throw quests at me, incorrectly stating I haven’t finished one to go on and state I need to finish another one yet you should know I have no way of triggering the Black Spirit to give me the quest.

- I’ve tried Southern Calpheon, pull up Black Spirit...nothing. 

- I went to Behr, Catfishman Camp, Mansha Forest...did all the dailies just to try and trigger the Black Spirit...nothing,

Waited 7 days for support to try and progress this DIM Secondary upgrade, kinda done with submitting support tickets to only get told incorrect quests and not the actual solution.

I have checked your character and confirmed that you already have finished the World of Enemies #6: Hexe  Sanctuary Skeletons. I also noticed that you haven't finished the [Boss] Witch hunting which is one of the requirements to accept the quest to upgrade your Dim Magical Dagger.
You need to finish the questline A Familiar Aura to get the quest  [Boss] Witch hunting.

I have done the dim upgrade all the way to roaring on 5 toons now.  I did it on 2 last night.  You have to finish all of the monsters of the world quests; I think the Cyclops and Ogres are the last.  You then get the upgrade 2 at sentinels outpost (tree fort).  There is a level requirement as well.  You get 3 and 4 by following the first couple of BS quests in Mediah.  I did it on 2 level 55s.  So I think you need to be 53/54/55 for each upgrade AND finish he quest line AND be in the appropriate zone.  I got my roaring upgrade quest right after I finished the quests to take you to kill imps in the abandoned mine.

I’m lvl 56, done with Mediah, donw all the [Co-op] Ogre, Giant, blah blah. I even have my Abysmal Weapon which deep into Altonova questline.

my Black Spirit only offers me Special I amd Special II quests.

Grats to you for finishing them, but this has been a issue for  many players back on PC. Just google it.

I had the exact same issues BEFORE last patch.  Once I logged in with my 56, I got the entire series of upgrade quests.  If you have done all those things then I don't know what to tell you.  have you tried leveling a new toon?  I'm wondering if it's just your one "stuck" toon or if it is all of your toons.

I'm having the exact same issue, I can't ffs NOT trigger this quest no matter what I do. I have completed all required quests but the black spirit never ever gave me a single upgrade quest for the dim dagger! I'm lvl56 1/2 got my abysmal weapon, have Derek's leather boots,working right now on the abyssal helmet and there is also another issue were u can't trigger the quest for the abyssal gloves (can't get the quest from the book in tower in tarif )!!! I have no clue what to do to trigger this 2 quests and I'm a hard core quester doing every single quest in the game. I hope they fix dim dagger, dim Amor and illezas treat quest soon!!! Also I have completed the whole story so far it gets right now.

Are you able to readh out to GMs in game?

Like in WoW...least in the first few years, you could request a GM and you would get queued for assistance. Then they would whisper you.

It might be easier then swapping Support Tickets.

Are the people who have the complete dim upgrades wizards?

If so, were you over 50 when mediah was released.

Err...hmm.  i was NOT over 50 when Mediah released.

Cause i remember i was ‘painting’ the edges of the entire, playable, map the night before Mediah released and was thinking I will try to run all Mediah edges after it releases. Knowing i was under geared and lower level for Mediah.

When I google this, numerous results come up...but most end up with either ‘gave up, game quests are broken’ from 2016 or ‘stand in this spot in Calpheon and magically fhe BS will give the quest’...never works.

I am a wizard and I was around 48-50 when median hit, can't remember right. And no I never ever got a dim dagger upgrade quest. Maybe it's an wizard only issue, cause I have seen multiple reports that other classes got it to roaring.

I have the full upgraded secondary on a striker.

I received dim magical vambrace and moved on as I had duo scale vambrace already. All of the sudden I thought that having roaring offhand could help in PvP so I went to the tree lady who gives the exchange quest but she had no quest to give. I was left with one Black Spirit quest about the necklace where I was supposed to go to Calpheon. I knew it's from black spirit so I removed it and after that he offered me to go and see the tree lady and all of the sudden the quest appeared above her head.

I have the same issue and am also Wizard, i could upgrade the secondary with my Lahn no problem. Possibly only Wizards affected?

Oh...I constantly am spammed with this necklace quest. But If I remember right, i abandon it, the ghost send me back to that butt shaking Goblin? I will try your steps and hope i get sent to the tree lady.

Sorry man, that's just what worked for me. I had a quest to go to the goblin - > abandoned it -> after that black spirit had the quest for weapon upgrade.

No, no man. I thank you for giving me some direction. I’m gonna give it a try as soon as i can.

I’ve seen this topic so many times and finally decided to chime in. I also started a wizard at launch and never got any dim upgrades, even after completing mediah. 

This may not be a solution you’re willing to attempt, but I made a witch alt, gave her all my wizard’s gear at that point, including the dim dagger, and I was able to get the quests on her to upgrade it fully. Got far enough into mediah to get it to roaring, and haven’t played my witch ever since. Maybe not the most ideal solution, but I wanted that dagger too. 

in the interest of narrowing this down, is this issue a bug that is possibly specific to Wizards? Because I was able to upgrade my Horn Bow with little issue, i am currently using the Freed Magical Horn Bow at level 52 (or 53? I don't remember what level I was when i logged off last night).

are people having problem with this on their other classes?

Tried this.

Summoned the Black Spirit in Calpheon and he came up with three quests> Necklace, Ring, and Earring of Magical Power.

I accepted the Necklace of Magical Power in Calpheon and then Forfeited the quest. 

Summoned the Black Spirit again and he had the same quest for the Necklace of Magical Power. He did not give me a quest to go pver to the Tree Spirit lady in Long Leaf sentry post.

It was worth a shot.

I went one further, I completed each of those quests too, not just quit and nothing.

I think if    actually submitted this as a bug to devs, this would be a issue the devs would be fixing for all of BD.

Cause it seems this issue still exists on PC, and by the looks of the GM threads over on PC.

Definitely wizards. Got it on my Ranger tonight no issues. Tough break guys. Hope it gets fixed soon
