There should be seperate PVP and PVE servers like every other mmorpg out there. I'm not a PVP player so forced PVP at level 50 ruins the experience for me. If i am playing a mmorpg I play for the quests, lore and the constant grind for better gear. I wouldn't mind it if it wasn't for the fact that you can still get attacked even if the PVP flag is off. If I want a battle royale game I would play fortunate or pubg or even Apex legends. I'm sure there will probably a lot of comments of get better gear and stuff however that's almost impossible once you hit 50 and are farming for better gear and you get randomly killed by another player. So needless to say once I hit 50 unless that changes I'll just go to some other MMORPG like everquest or ffxi. There are probably others who will be leaving when they hit 50 as well. 

Oh and a lockout timer from switching servers so you cant just jump from one PVP server to another after you kill someone in that server to avoid any paybacks. 

This is not a new concept. This game will likely never introduce those servers separately. Forced PK helps you adapt to different situations and is good prep for node wars and red battlefield. I dont see it going anywhere, but hey, you and the rest of the lvl 50s who cant hang are free to go anytime.

I think that it's fair to say there is definitely a population difference in play style pc vs console. Yes, there are die hard pvp'ers, die hard pk'ers, but .. I would wager that there are more pve'ers on console games vs pc. It's not that I don't ever want to pvp -- but having servers w/o forced would be nice. It's annoying as heck to get pk'd running to a town. 

Pearl Abyss, I hope you notice how many of us are not fans of forced pvp -- mostly because of pk'ers - not even 'fighting for grind spot' pvp'ers. It's these frustrations that start making a game unfun.

I have zero problem with the whole fighting for grind spots thing -- it's the d-bags that pk for no reason. Negative karma consequences aren't enough. Wouldn't it be funny if you hit say -500k karma that your family were grounded for 1/2 a day. Or -1m a whole day. There's no benefit to PK someone (especially life skilling) -- so why not make the karma consequences bigger - family wide, not just toon specific.

And, I've said it before -- there needs to be a cool-down between flag-up -> do damage -> flag down -- another d-bag move to start a fight only to wait for the defender to flag up and to then flag down to karma bomb them. 

I totally agree with op the game needs non pvp server or ability to leave it off at 50 so we can level up with out pvp cancer . they need this before awakening is released tbh. They also need to monitor chat this is t for teens game and the profanity in chat and vulgar talk is just appalling.

every single other time I have ever taken part in PVP, it was because I was actively looking to do so.

No. but it is childish to constantly try to force a game to be changed into something it was not designed to be. This is not a new game. It's been out for 3 years on PC.  The game is what it has always been. It is not going to be drastically different in core game design just because it got ported to Xbox. It will still always be the same style of game.  NBA 2k  is not going to become a football game just because some dudes on PC demand it. 

People like you love to tell PVPers to "go play something else, why are you being so toxic, this game is for PVE not PVP" and then rain down all sorts of insults at them when they go on the forums for your PVE-centric game and demand that the game be changed to open PVP when it was not designed that way, just because "I said so."

and none of that changes my original point. the "Forced PVP" in this game is way overblown. Most PVP in this game is Guild and Node Wars, and people specifically looking for PVP.

This game is already not EXACTLY like it is on PC, it's for consideration. The PC population and console population tend to be different. You really do sound rather whiny no matter where I go folks crying pvp. Play at 49 you can pve only all you want. If not you accept the quest and deal with it. Complaining about pvp in a pvp game is pointless and to keep throwing insults at people for telling you the facts is even more pointless because you look like someone whose 7 years old not getting their way. Go play ESO go play Neverwinter etcetc noone is forcing you to play this game so you shouldnt be constantly trying to change the one game that doesnt cater to people like you. Lol another pvpers, I'll tell you like i have the others forced PvP at 50 or stay 49 firever is such a dumb concept but of course many of the masses who are dumb just accept it with out second thought. Other people like me do not however and will keep asking for it to be changed, again it doesn't effect you pvpers you would still have rbf and node wars if you choose to PvP. Kind of yes. Heres why.

There is a karma system in BDO. The lower geared a person you killed, the more your karma drops. Once your karma goes under 0, you become a red player. Red players cannot even enter town without being ganked by guards. Red players are perma flagged as long as they are negative and can be killed by players with no consequence. This system is in place to protect against going on rampages killing lowbies nonstop.

There are red players, this is true. Someone people do indiscriminately gank, this is true. However, it is such a minority of the players because life as a red player SUCKS.

9/10 this is why you were pk'd:

You were grinding mobs in the same area as someone else. You started interrupting the other persons grind, either by killing their mobs, just running through aggroing and resetting their mobs, etc. They pk'd you. Once. If you go back and continue of course they will kill you again. There is such a thing as grinding etiquette in this game, and its basically mind your own business.

We know its not constant killing because if it was they would become a red player. Especially if you were not geared, you can only kill like 3 times before you become red.

So what do you do? Get out of their way or change servers. Duh.

Uh nope. People will play this because it's one of the few non shooter pvp games that has a good combat system. You keep talking like you are the majority theres a poll in general where it wasnt even 5% who wanted pve servers.

I play with a lot of people who don't like the pvp forced on them in this game but they don't get on the forums . When they put it in the game then you will see how many people wanted it over those who don't. If you want to PvP thats what rbf, node wars/ seiges, conquest, shadow arena is for. I will say I did come from PC, and guess what. When the game came out years ago we had plenty of people saying the same crap you are now.

PvE only servers were not added. The players like you either learned to deal with it, or left the game. You were not missed there, you will not be missed here.

If you want to talk about whats dumb, I would say its a player that comes into a pvp game and expects the devs to change it. If you dont like pvp games then why did you bother? Go play a game that caters to to you more.

Nope never played this on PC always played xbox. I didnt buy this game with the thought process of trying to change it into something it wasnt. I spent some time researching the game b4 I bought it and saw it was clearly meant for pvp and not pve. The pve in the game lifeskills etc is all meant to bring you money to get better gear for the core of the game which is pvp.

Weird if the game is PvP centered then common sense would tell you there should be daily?,guild,and story centered PvP quests. You never know, the console demographic is probably a whole lot different than the PC's. You never know, PA might listen. They might look at stats -- how many toons never get to 50. How many toons within a family aren't played again after hitting 50. How many of them stop playing the game totally. How many spent real money in the game? Potential lost revenue might matter to them. Numbers won't lie.

No one's asking for the PvP to go away. No one's asking for the game to be entirely changed. There already exists a "PvP" designation on servers - why? 

Take a breath, other people have other opinions and they're all worth hearing.

Heres the question...does the main quest line force you to participate in pvp...not level up to 50 and beyond, but actively pvp to complete a quest?  I see sooooooo much PvE stuff and the main quest line for me thus far has been PvE.   I think anyone calling this a PvP game is deluding themselves. To me, at least, it’s a PvE grinder with open world pvp elements and events. Maybe I haven’t gotten to the pvp black spirit quest yet?

Quest is at 50 you have to consume item it gives you and boom 50 you can be attacked by others. See in chat all the time people getting killed while in menu, gathering, running from town to town, ect...... They should just leave the PvP off unless you want to turn it on. Ability to attack people when they don't want to PvP is dumb, unwanted, and needs to be changed. There is no pvp quests in the game not even PvP guild quests, just rbf and node/siege wars, shadow arena eventually.

The only PvE things that you can do is do world boss, field boss and do nothing but grind all day on mobs without worrying about dying. There are no dungeons, there are no raids. Just grinding. So imagine a PvE server with nothing but grinding endlessly.

You can have all of those things including PvP with the extra thrill of knowing someone could possibly gank you "just because" or whatever their reason may be is much more fun. The game has been on the PC for 3 years and not once have they added PvE servers. 3 years is a very long time and it not being added should tell people something. To be honest there are NOT many open world MMORPG games that have open world PvP in it. So there is also that. This game was made with pvp in mind and I believe it will stay that way. I'm not that strong as a player but I do fight for my life and either I win or lose it will still be a fun experience.
