I notice a lot of guides on classes, I play warrior, and they all talk about cancels. What does this actually mean? 

I'm trying to learn warrior for pvp so I can be good but don't understand this whole cancel thing? 

Some skills have long animations. Cancelling means using another skill right after one big long animation, to name is shorter, aka cancel the long animation.

 But does your skill still work if you are cancelling it?

Yeah if you don't cancel too quick. That's the whole point

you basically do the skill, but cancel the animation (i.e. u don't see the animation).. you'll still land that hit..

example: Spinning Slash (RT+LS down), this is a long animation. once you do it and before it goes through the animation, u use another skill (maybe Shield Strike (RT+LS up)) to cancel the long animation of Spinning Slash and deal damage of both SS and Shield Strike.

this basically making you more efficient with your hits.. instead of doing both hits in 3 seconds, you'll do it in 2 seconds..
