Seriously, I'm wanting to suggest that Pearl Abyss start treating genders equally with costume, animations, sounds and other forms of portrayal with equal respect. I realise that it's a tradition for most MMORPGs to clothe male characters with full suits of armour while females only get three tiny triangles of cloth for 'enhancing' particular aesthetic characteristics; but it's time for change and for you to consider cessation of such stereotype.
I know what some are going to respond with and in preemptive reply, there isn't any excuse for it this day and age, regardless of who makes the game and how long it's been running.
Philosophically, if people all around you are doing the morally and ethically wrong thing, does that make it right?
Please, stop treating genders as sexual objects for the purpose of financial gain. It's sexist and wrong.
I also realise that we cannot control how some are going to customise their characters anyway, but there should be realistic options to at least appear to be doing the right thing as a responsible business.
It will be a lot of work to overhaul the system to reflect the true intentions of this suggestion, but I'm positive that the effort will be worth the reward.
Please can we see an honest representation of contemporary gaming?
I hope this topic makes sense and not considered as stupid.
My wife loves this game and absolutely loves her characters and her cute clothes. You may think something is morally or ethically wrong but that does not mean everyone agrees with you or should agree with you.
If masses of people didn't like what the Devs were doing, the Devs would know and wouldn't do it. The fact that they still do it says something you should really consider. Not everyone is offended and if you are that offended you should likely find something that doesn't offend you.
Seriously, please stop trying to make others follow your way of thinking; it isn't healthy and to attempt to is morally and ethically wrong.

History, an important teacher, would suggest that you're are wrong and to also say that debate and holding forum for the purpose of persuasion and compromise is unhealthy... is quite binary. We have parliaments across the world and politicians, regardless of party, who are needed (with great dislike when they break promises or lie), to hold the status quo to account and argue for change when required.
It took a long, long time to give the women the vote or allow any gender to express their love. It took a long time to say that discrimination, based on physical, mental or cultural ideas, is wrong. We wouldn't have those ideals of equality or freedom without someone trying to persuade via forum and debate.
To tell a games company to become much more versatile with their creation and imagination should not be as difficult. Philosophy, historic or contemporary, suggests that I am correct.
To imply another person is unwell for wanting change where equality is concerned is, in itself, quite ridiculous.
I personally would love to have more cool looking, armored up costumes for female characters. Currently we only have Valoren which is... Decent I guess. I don't like the helmet though lol
But please, no politics. You need to look at this from a business standpoint. I completely agree with you wanting a better variety of costumes and styles, but not with your reasons. Money will speak more when it comes to this, and I say...
I'd be willing to drop some pearls on some cool looking female armor.

Yes, we know your position. You stated it in your first post. I disagree and stated so in my post. I'm not sure why you are quoting me and responding. You wont change my mind; you can't change my mind. This is a video game, play it or don't. But stop trying to be political over a game and stop trying to ruin peoples fun and games simply because you think something is morally wrong.
As long as consumers continue to purchase the products people will make them. If they make something that isn't popular they will know because they wont make the money. It's a simple process. Leave it be please. No GamerGate politics here please.
My Sorc is dressed rather modest on a usual basis, if you give your character skimpy clothing, that's on you.
Wait. Let me get this straight. You want a korean game, made in korea, and originally for the korean populace to conform to american standards because we want to play it in america?
Good luck.
Secondly, when i played my sorc she seemed alot more clothed then your typical mmo female players.
I also gotta say the Karlstein female outfit covers quite a bit.
I was expecting this to be about the classes forcing you to be male or female and not giving you a choice. The clothing is something you can choose. There are robes and outer layers.
I think there should be a sex option for every class. It’s like saying females can’t be a beserker. Yet I’ve seen anime stating otherwise. (Holy wars)
or that guys can’t spin chains around. Yet jet lee does it.
Not hijacking this thread but hoping to repurpose it to what should be a no brainer and easy fix. There should be a. Choice.
This is the kind of thread that I laugh. The company is from Korea. They do whatever they want with their game. There are plenty of MMOs out there. Choose one that fits your "needs"
looking at the armor choices for the female toons there is a good mix of modest and sexual outfits so from what i see the OP is offended that people choose a certian style of outfit
freedom to choose should never be taken away
can also say as a prevoius post not all scandily clad toons are played by males, some females like to dress their charicters that way as well

Im with you i mean how can you expect all the female characters to fight, run, travel in high heels lol.
Yes. And we need more vegan food recipes and Keto diet as a life skill.
How many women atm are bitching about this when this topic is started?
Please take your SJW suggestion elsewhere. Thanks.
Have you ever tried wearing a full suit of armour, I'm male and I doubt I'll last an hour without at least grumbling that it is heavy. On top of that they have to carry a shield and a massive weapon.
There is a reason why rogue type classes, ranged classes and mages keep armor to a minimum. So they can stay mobile, keep their steps light. Plus physical strength is not their primary focus.
Besides Valkyrie can be covered head to toe in armor even with the visor closed, so wait for her. She has semi-lewd armor too though.
Edit: to be honest I doubt I'd wear a suit of armor for 10 minutes
Well tho some out fits are questionable than again it is a Korean game fluff u expect they got to milk us some how ?

There’s more coming, like Audrey and Shadow Chaser. For guys, well..

Yup. I dress mine all kinds of ways, and I’m a woman. This is my Ranger at the moment.
Did somebody say Shai?
Oopsie doopsie ?p
Honestly most of the outfits are very modest. Some are a bit more extreme however its your choice if you want to wear it. Now as far as the class's gender Its not so much a random person choosing a fighting style, We are playing the part of a specific person. Why do you think there is such a specific class back story?

They like to write specific histories I guess. I ignore them; I used the creator to grab the ears of my Lahn and make her an Elf lol.
I mean in the Shai backstory, they basically say you’re 30 years old at the start of the game.
I like the little back story. It gives depth to the different class's. In a way the whole journey is to discovers our characters past.
I agree as the male characters have full sets and here’s me just wanting to run free in just a banana hammock!
its not wrong and some would say it’s not right, but if I goto the beech, a hammock it is and personal preference is exactly that!
