A lot of us are almost practically screaming and begging Pearl Abyss to launch more servers to handle the extra traffic and therefore smoother gameplay. We also desire the original quality of aesthetics to be restored to us because we enjoy the scenery just as much as the gameplay. 

What we're not considering is hardware. Just what kind of machinery are we relying on? 

We know we have a games console and a mix of Victorian and contemporary internet connections on the consumer side of things, but just what kind of monster is on the other end of the line?

How exactly do Pearl Abyss send, receive, manage and process the data shared between client and business, Microsoft and other services?

I'm curious because we're asking for more servers as if it's just as simple as a few clicks and another instance of server software running. I'm willing to bet, however, that it's much more complicated than this.

Do Pearl Abyss need to open a whole new server warehouse and telecommunications hub? Do they need to talk to Microsoft about registering and licensing new software and hardware? Do they need to pay another Internet Service Provision account?

A lot of the answers to this will involve divulging trade secrets which could open the company to attack. However, maybe one of our fellow players with good technical knowledge could estimate what's going on behind the scenes?

Curious if all the complaints coming from standard xboxs? Other then the tearing and disappearing scenery my game plays and runs smooth as ever. However im on an X with an added SSD. I feel like the game should never lower itself to perform well on the standard xbox. If people want better performance they need to upgrade. But all the same. No issues on my end or from any of my crew performance wise. Just magic disappearing mountains lol.  

Some random loading screens here and there but I'm fine with it. Running X and ssd aswell. No problems at all, but more servers are needed not because of performance issues but because of the amount of players

More servers is a terrible idea. MMO populations wax and wane. increase when new content gets released, and decreases as the content gets stale. Pop is high right now but will decrease to a stable level shortly. It will spike again when Awakening is released, then decrease to a stable level. it will wax and wane all year. 

Sure adding more servers will ease the load right now, but when the population drops the game will be less densely populated. Making severs seem like ghost towns.

Well we KNOW the Arsha (pvp) server is coming, Oliva channels will be coming in the near future. Oliva Channels will take some of the "new" player load off the main channels. 

We still could use the 4 channels at least. PC has 6 of each.

This discussion is not about how the game runs. It is about server capacity being tested daily since the game has been offered on Game Pass. Servers have gone from being crowded on a Saturday and Sunday to being Crowded every day of the week.

I think this might just be an EU problem. My connection on NA has been flawless since the update and gamepass. It was horrible before to the point where I ordered a 50ft ethernet cable. But it's just sitting there unused because I don't need it now.

Yeah, I'm cool with this. Less contested grind zones? Who's not up for that? ? 

We really need more servers? this would help a lot with the crowded towns who is currently with the game pass players a lagfest and we had more grinding zones too. Not everyone has the money to upgrade to a one x! Even in the morning hours are at least 2 servers on EU always crowded now. We need at least 2 new channels, val2 and med2 would be nice?

There isn't 3 channels per server on the EU? I was under the impression the population only slightly favored NA.

NA has 15.

Balenos 1-3, Calpheon 1-3, Serendia 1-3, Mediah 1-3, Valencia 1-3. 

All of them have been crowded and some even overrun since the Valencia update.

Oh, and yes, NA have the higher capacity. But back to my original post, what kind of tech are we dealing with here? How difficult is it to install more EU servers? I ask because simply opening more instances on an already-busy machine won't work well, will it? They'll have to use another machine and another connection to the internet physically somewhere, right?

I'm sure they can afford it, just wondering how tricky it is.

It can't bee too hard cause we started in eu with I think 5 servers and in the first week of launch we have gotten 2 more. I believe it was Valencia and mediah  who came

Well that's wrong because that's the population of the US... NA also includes Canada, Mexico and anyone in South America with a capable connection since there is only a server in NA, plus we have the Aussies too.

If bots/afks weren't allowed they wouldn't  need to add servers.

And we wouldn't have this discussion.

Also between Xbox one sold and Black Desert players on Xbox one,we are far behind.

Pretty sure the number is under the population of some major cities: New York city,Toronto,London,Paris. (Close to the population of Paris or maybe Vancouver).

If they chose the amount of regional servers based on general pop then they would have servers in China. That's not how it works.

If you read the whole thread you may notice a 'lol' in my original post indicating it was a joke.

Instead of trying to prove one another wrong can we unite in appealing to the developers...Consider opening additional servers?!

Its a pretty simple conclusion if you have less servers, you have far less players.
