Is there a chance this game will ever become smartglass compatible? It would make certain things easier I believe unless im just retarded. which may fully be the case.

If you're talking about using the xbox phone app to type in chat, yes, that's already in the game. If it isn't working for you;

Check that your app is updated. 

Check your phone's WiFi connection. 

Hard reset your console.

How do I type in chat using my phone? I’ve just downloaded the app and signed in but cannot figure out how to type in chat.

If your phone is on the same WiFi network, you connect your console to your phone via the app. 

In the bottom of the screen, a bar will appear that says, "Black Desert - Now Playing". If that's there, simply opening the xbox keyboard to type, will connect to your phone keyboard instead. Pressing a button on the xbox controller will get rid of the keyboard on your phone screen though.
