Please allow us to remove and add certain groups by tab, not just close down the chat box entirely.

I would like to have my chat window show loot drops by default when I am grinding and then be able to change tabs to show guild, group, and party chats. All while being able to turn over individual groups like Server and World chat. 

There is a section in the interface settings that have toggles for some groups but they don't work and I still can't pick which tab I want to have displayed during gameplay.

Is it possible to change the background of the chat window on screen in order to make text readable easier?

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to figure this one out during Beta.

I'd like this too. It is hard to read with some backgrounds with the same tones. It would be great if we could customise the colours.

This is my biggest thing right now. The server chat just blends into the back ground. I have to pull it up full. Be nice if you can also at a back ground to it. I am sure it will all be worked out. 

Please rework the total chat... its the worst i ever seen in an console mmo its an pain in the ass just to send an simple whisper, and let the players set chat tab how they want lets make it simple and easy as the ffxiv one.

Please also add in an optional profanity filter that allows players to remove the filter if they so choose.

i understand this has more to do with Sony but this game is rated M for mature right? And also online interactions aren’t rated by ESRB so isn’t there someway to allow us to customize what we want to see in chat.

Nope. You can't change the background color or opacity either on console.

the chat could definitely use a bit of attention.  it is incredibly unintuitive and lacks any sort of customization.  far too many controller inputs are needed just to send a whisper.  there is also no way to mute players in chat as far as i can see.  are there keyboard shortcuts for communicating to players?
