I’m about to reach level 50 and enter the open world of PvP. I’m just a casual player right now and PvP doesn’t interest me. My question is if I skip the quest and not enter the world of open PvP can I still do quest line and farm for better gear?

I’ll PvP if I have too but I’d rather learn the game and understand the game more. 

People panic too much when it comes to PvP. And I've seen protips in general chat to avoid leveling up to 50 because PvP is so scary. It's absurd.

1. PvP doesn't happen as often as you could think it does. Most often when you decide to steal someone's mobs during grinding. I have 100 hours in this game already and I was attacked maybe 3 times.
2. You don't lose exp when you die during PvP fight.
3. Occasional PvP is actually really fun, especially when you're doing the same thing for x hours. It's like a breath of fresh air.

I say - do the level 50 quest and don't worry about it.

I don’t mint PvPing. Just don’t want to overly side tracked from learning the game and doing other things. I’ll probably end up doing the quest anyway

I did the quest and kept on questing and wrapping up the main quests. Still havent been attacked.

Awesome I’ll probably end up doing it on this one but not on my alts. I’ll keep them for farming 

You shouldn't worry. I was worried too, i'm not a PvP player at all but I love BDO, its world, the exploration, the quests and all. So when I learnt that there was a "forced" PvP .... but in fact, there is really nothing to be worried about. I've been attacked for the first time yesterday. Someone hit me once or twice. It freaked me out hahaha but nothing else happened. And you really lose nothing when you die, so it's ok. Just a loss of time to respawn and all.

I really wouldn't worry about it, if you die just go back or switch servers if there's 1guy constantly attacking. Don't be afraid to use a mob to help you escape (I do this as I'm not geared for pvp properly yet). Pvp is fun tho and the matches can last awhile.

All this PK mantra is revolving around a lot and it's not really true what they say.

99% of PvP happens over grinding spots. I personally try to delete anyone who enters my spot and they usually get the point and don't come back. Sometimes I get jumped on and if I defend my spot they change server but if I get screwed I switch server. 

Actual griefing is like 1%.. 

Of course, we are not talking about GvGs.. declared wars and PvP related to this is a different story. 

By staying below 50 you limit yourself on every level.. skills, awakenings (soon), high end grinds spots etc. Don't waste your time at 49.99% unless it's a lifeskilling, fishing character.
