I hit level 50 and then completely lost track of what I'm supposed to be doing. All I want to do is PVP, so everything I actually do is only a means to that end. As far as I can tell, there are 3 main things I need to focus on: 1) get money, 2) get gear, 3) get skill points.
I'm having technical issues with the money thing, but I think I've got that worked out and will see tonight. Gear has me very confused, though. I have tons of black stones and I can see tons of quests that offer black stones, but I cannot figure out how to get equipment that I can upgrade. I hear about Heve or other armor 'names' but I have no idea where to find these.
I've watched a ton of videos and understand the words of what needs to be done but actually doing them is the problem. In the game I have no idea how to be productive. It seems like the quests are all scattered across the map and it takes me forever to run around everywhere. I bought a donkey and it ended up running into a river during auto-run and died.
I'm level 50 with 54 energy, 80 contribution, and I've been to Velia, Heidel, and Calpheon. I think I've done the main quest line. I've got ~80 AP and 100 DP. I'd really like to get my AP up, like way up. I'd prefer it if I could get my AP higher than my DP. There's a ton of things to do but nothing seems to be benefiting my character at all. I've just filled my inventory with stones, crystals, and a buncha bs.
We've the advantage of the game having been old a good while before we got access to it. I suggest doing what I did and looking up guides for your class on Google or YouTube.
Also get a horse. Donkey is slow and terrible, so probably part of your problem right there. Tier 3 horses go on market now and then if you can snipe one, or can settle with a Tier 1 from the stable vendor for a bit.
As far as story progress you're definitely not done if those are the only cities you've been to. No idea what quest you left off on, but the Black Spirit - aka main quest line - goes a good while longer.
I have watched plenty of videos and youtube and watched plenty of guides online. None of the information is helpful as I either don't know what they're talking about or can't figure out how to do it myself. I bought a tier 1 horse but it ended up being a donkey. It was the only one available. I don't get it, do I need to buy a mount every time I want to use a mount?
The Black Spirit is very confusing as sometimes he doesn't have any quests available and other times he does. I'm not sure if it's tracked somewhere else, but the quest log sometimes has nothing available for "main" or for "black spirit."
Honestly, the fact that the game has been out for years on PC isn't helping me at all because half of the guides are written using only keyboard commands and the images/videos appear as PC and not PS4, which has a very different layout. And not everything is even available in ps4. For example, people recommend buying stuff on the market, like enhanced weapons, but there are none that I'm finding and I'm guessing it's because the game is a week old so far.
There are multiple avenues to take to get armor and weapons you are speaking about. Work at getting a modest amount of money and then check the central market for things to buy. Sometimes you can find items already enhanced there. Or sometimes you can farm areas for drops that are enhanced to a random level. Then you open up your black spirit and choose his option to enhance an item. Armor can be enhanced up to +5 with no penalties and weapons up to +7. But to see the real benefits you need to enhance up past +15. Look at your characters weapons on the central market that are enhanced. There may not be any available for sale on the market, but if you select the item and hit the square button it will display the stats for you.
Also at a certain point in the main quest line you will get a tier 5 horse.

I mentioned this already.
What is a modest amount of money? I have about 10mil atm. The central market has nothing even remotely comparable to what I've got. My main hand weapon does 42-50 AP and the market weapons are all like 10s-20s. I cannot find any enhanced gear anywhere, I'm assuming because the game is still new??? What areas should I farm and is this a realistic method? I'm not looking to grind mobs for an hour for a single drop. I'd settle for an item that can be enhanced. So far everything I get ends up not being capable of enhancement. Is this how quest items work?
Where can I find a weapon that I can enhance that does close to what mine already does?
Items that say cannot be enhanced - cannot be enhanced.
Items that say fixed are typically quest items and can be enhanced but with specific things/items.
Items that say flexible are the items that can be enhanced with black stones (armor or weapon).
Also reread my last post cause I added some info.
I am no expert on this game by any means. PS4 is my first time playing.
The first thing I would do if I were you would be to look for and join a guild that you can enjoy. An important part for me was finding a guild that used discord or some sort of voice chat, but either way, a guild will make this game a lot more enjoyable. For now don't worry about getting a horse. Run everywhere so you can level up your breath. Once your breath is lvl 30, then you can start using a horse.
Since you are level 50 here's what i'd start with. Open the quest log and switch over to the "main" quest tab. Complete all of those quests until that log is empty and then move to the "suggested" tab. Here you will find a quest chain that rewards the abyssal weapon which gives 84 AP. Do that quest chain I think the first quest is called past glory. Once you have this weapon you can start grinding for the asula accessories, all 6 give a total of 45 AP. If you already have a weapon that gives you around 84 AP, just focus on upgrading a yuria weapon. Next, get the accuracy offhand for your class (Vangertz, Saiyer, Bronze, Helrick) at least to +7, this will get you 2 AP some DP and a bunch of accuracy/evasion. This gives you 131AP.
As for armor, the best you can do right now is grunil or heve, but they are also the most expensive. If you are unfamiliar with enhancing I'd recommend you use agerian because it will be easier to repair the max durability. The difference between grunil/heve and agerian is minimal, all you are really aiming for right now with gear is to get +5 attack/casting speed and +5 movement and crit if you can. Get your armor to at least +10, this is pretty easy to do without failstacks.
With this your AP will be 131 and your DP will be 129.
Once you've reached that point, you can begin to upgrade you gear. don't worry about accessories right now, the asula set is pretty good. You'll want to start working on a weapon, ideally for PvP a Yuria. Prioritize upgrading your weapon first, aim to get it to DUO. Once you've done that get all of your armor and your off-hand to DUO.
With this your AP will be 143 and your DP will be 231.
For now your DP is going to be way higher than your AP and I wouldn't recommend getting the AP off-hand until later on when you have more accuracy to support losing the accuracy off-hand. Even if you had the AP off-hand right now you'd only be at 158 AP. I wouldn't recommend PvP'ing until you get at least everything to DUO.
Ideally, you'll want to grind until you are 56, this can take some time but it shouldn't be much. Once you are 56 go back and do all the general and reoccurring quests that you see, this will level you to 59 very fast. Once you're 59 the real grind begins.

Or if you are hard core about it. Grind till 58 and shoot thru 58 and over half of 59 to cut that grind more. You get pretty little exp from quests at 59. But it's still more then grinding. Least for me it is.
Thanks guys, I had a productive day yesterday. I figured out how to get my 3 workers working and I hired 3 more, but my goblin ran out of stamina last night and I probably have some other workers out of stamina now. How do you replenish their stamina? I have a single beer and am waiting on 50 more from the market, but I can't seem to figure out where to put the beer and how to get it to my workers.
I did find a helpful guild. I've already bought a t2 horse and have my breath level to 15. I'm currently working my way through the main story. I think I'm stuck somewhere near the Redemption Statue, I'm not entirely sure.
I bought a Yuria staff yesterday and got it to +7, but it's still worse than my castellion staff (42-50). I'm afraid to keep upgrading it, at what level does the chance to fail mean it will be destroyed and when should I worry about failstacking? Idk where to get the asula accessories or any of those accuracy off hands, but I'm sure I can look it up. I also have several Parrying Daggers, not sure if they're any good though.
I got some helmets, gloves, and 1 other piece of Heve, but they're like Strength of Heve (not sure if that matters for a Wizard) and I saved them in storage because I keep hearing that name. Should I upgrade these? They're not currently better than what I've got. Can I miss match them or am I looking for set bonuses?
What does DUO mean?
Finishing the main questline as I work towards level 56 is currently my goal now that I got my workers, energy, and cp figured out.

Hi man,
PRI equals +16, Duo equals +17, TRI equals +18, TET equals +19, PEN equals +20.
You replenish stamina of the workers by feeding them beer, bird meat, oatmeal etc. Best and easiest way to get beer is to cook it yourself while you afk. Just gather potatoes at one of nodes around Velia. The rest of materials you can buy from any innkeeper.
In terms of horse, T2 is good but you want to catch/buy T5 asap.
You may want to check this, useful, tons of info and knowledge - https://www.blackdesertfoundry.com/list-of-guides/

I know that I can make my own beer, I already have 50 beer. My problem is that I cannot get the beer to the workers. How do you feed/pay them?
I'll just get a t5 horse from the questline, I've been buying the best/most affordable ones on the market.

The only way to feed workers is to access worker menu and to do so you need to put pick-axe icon on your ring menu slot.
Go settings, edit ring menu, choose worker list, and add it to the ring menu.

Oh, weird. I'd have never figured that out, thanks! Once I get them fed and working again I'll figure out how to make my own beer. I've never actually stepped foot into my house lol.

Good luck
You can also give your workers beer by just clicking on beer in your inventory. This will bring up your worker menu where you can max out their stamina. This is also how you can feed pets - click on the pet food in your inventory.
Regarding mounts, you can revive a dead mount at the last stable it was lodged/bought at, so that donkey is still retrievable! It cost 15,000 silver. My poor horse has died twice so far - once when I ran into what looked like an empty field that suddenly spawned a ton of mobs at Helms and once when I parked too close to the stupid Catfishmen...>.< Between dying, remembering where you parked them, and running out of stamina, sometimes I feel mounts are more trouble than they're worth. lol

Oh thanks, that's good to know. I always go to my pet window from the menu in order to feed them. I hope my beer is available when I log on. How does the central market work? I purchased 50 beers last night but they did not show up. Last time I bought something from the central market it arrived the following day but I'm not sure how it functions. Like, in WoW you have to wait 1 hour and then it arrives in the mail.
I revived my horse after parking it too close to the skeletons at... Helms? That was when I discovered I could retrieve my donkey, but I chose the horse instead. Good to know it only works at the first and last stable and not at any stable. The mounts are awfully annoying and at 110% speed they don't feel wholly worth it unless I'm riding a town or two away.
I was having this problem last night with my horse where when it was auto running it'd sometimes get knocked out of its running and then revert back to walking and eventually stop. I'd manually correct it and continue, but it worries me that it won't work for AFK traveling. I've begun a habit where I start planning my long trips to include some sort of break, such as going to get food or using the bathroom. Are there any reliable methods for traveling far distances? I'm dreading unlocking the rest of the map because it's going to at least double in size.
Mounts will feel slow until you can get a t5 horse with the sprint skill. You should be able to just set a path and walk it afk, not sure why it wouldn't work unless maybe a button got hit accidentally.
Also when you buy stuff from the central market you are essentially bidding on the item. If there is some available at the price you put or lower then you'll receive it immediately. If there is none up you may have to wait a while, anywhere from minutes to days, etc.

When the mount moved through other character models (PCs and NPCs) it would get knocked out of rhythm and end up stopping, but it also did it for random reasons such as the hill got a little steep. It was very annoying, but maybe it was a temporary lag-glitch thing. Maaaaybe a button got pressed, but I really don't think so as I'd have noticed that in other games in the past.
Oooh, weird. Can you cancel a bid? I 'spent' several hundred silver on my 50 beers and if they haven't arrived today than I'll figure something else out and would prefer to cancel the bid since getting them next week isn't useful to me. Is the central market a good place to make money? I have no idea what stuff is worth trashing, keeping, or selling for a good price. Is there any easy/beginner-friendly way to discern if an item is worth selling on the central market? And do vendors pay different prices for things, like should I sell my arms to an arms dealer or are they worth the same at any old vendor?

Huh I've never had that issue, not sure what to say.
Yeah you can cancel a bid, there should be a tab for you orders and another for what you are selling. The Central Market is a great way to make money. The more familiar you get with each item, its use, and worth then the more money you can make from it. Vendors buy things all for the same price so it doesn't matter who you sell to. Each item you get has a flat value as far as the NPCs are concerned.
I've gotten myself pretty squared away, though it's clear there's still a ton I haven't figured out.
My horse had no issues last night, except I left it at a random stables somewhere and I'm not sure where. I'm hoping I'll get my t5 horse soon, but this quest chain is confusing. For the past 2 levels the quest has simply asked me to get to the next level, which is taking a decent chunk of time now that I'm in the 50s.
Also, I cannot accept any of the quests under the "suggestions" tab. Every time I click one it brings open the black spirit who simply calls me a baby and says I can do it on my own. This leads me to believe I can simply go to the quest location and do what it asks, but I'm unsure how I can get any credit. Regardless, I have been getting plenty of black stones from grinding which is what the quest rewards are, so...

I'm always learning new things. Been around a year now.
You can go to any stable and view your horses. It will state where it is stabled at. You can also remote retrieve your horse. I did it once when I was to lazy to run back 2000. lol
Yea, that quest about leveling is with you from now on. I have had it since 50 and I am 57 now. It just changes to the next level up.
Suggested tab is bad about that. A lot of those require you to have completed something or another quest first. They do not tell you that. When I run into that now, I just google it and find out what the requirement is. Then decide of i am going to do it now or later on.
