I have a bug to report, I have seen that many people in reddit report it but they have not fixed it yet and it happens that when I move a position character in the character selection section, or play with different characters, when I play again  With my previous one, this one has the ring menu and all the initial settings and it is quite annoying since it takes me time to reconfigure the menus as I like and this happens every time I change my character and play a while, when I return to the other one that has  the messy menus even my button selection is unconfigured, please help.

Yes. ring menu are getting reset on a frequent basis.  Many of us (myself included) have reported this, but so far it has fallen on deaf ears.  I even reported it with official support ticket, and they replied with "oh it's not supposed to save your config settings".  I kid you not.  Not many active brain cells in THAT group ?

Check things like your Quest filter settings - you may find that those got reset at the same time.  The reset appears to hit a lot of config settings, of which the ring menu is just a piece of it.

Yeah I found that of quest filter get unmarked too, Idk what to say, they have to fix it, is basic what a game, even more a mmo, save your settings, this problem bother to many of my friends and guild members but pearl abyss do nothing about it ?

Thank you CM valtarra, the true is not much people report this problem, I have many friends with this problem but how they not speak english chose no report so I started this post for report, I thinked is my console problem so I tried even reinstall the game 2 times in 2 differents consoles ps4 but is game problem, I delete cache and reinstall database, etc, nothing work, please help us.

I have gotten 3-4 people in this forum alone reporting it over the last few days so it seems to be a current issue. I have compiled all of your feedback into one report and will be sending it off to the devs this evening.

can you tell me how you close your game when you plan to go offline? Had the same problem, went to ring menu options, setup my preferences how i like it and then closed the game via PS4 button, close game. Ring menu was resetted! So i did another try, went to ring menu options, setup my preferences again, and then closed game via conncection tab --> logout

this option saved all and i never had any issues since then.

So when you do that steps, even closing via PS button again, the crossbar wasn't reseted?

No reset so far anymore,

compare it to word document.

You write something and then "x" it without saving. Open up again  and its empty.

next step is:

You write something and then "x" it with saving. Open up again and you have your writing in the document.

If you change something another day and "x" without saving it just jumps back to the original state of the document.

I recommend if you want to setup your ringmenu always close the game via connection tab --> logout to save your settings, after that you can just close the game via ps4 button

same with settings for chat, interface etc..

con la configuración de chat, interfaz, etc.

This method does not work for me.  Keep restarting the ring.

unfortunately the method you told me did not work for me, I just went to the game and all my characters have their unconfigured crossbars, I went back to the beginning, I think I will leave BDO for a while, it is quite frustrating to have to configure all the bars every time sigh *

So far daily my ring menu locked skills 4k option the lower player visibility character order and quests in profile other than first 2 gets reset. This is really becoming one hell of a nuisance as i have to reconfigure disconnect close app reopen the game every day just to play with my settings n ring menus how i like them. This should be a high priority fix as it hits EVERYONE who plays multiple characters every day.

On the bright side, at least Pearl Abyss finally seems to be acknowledging the problem. When I reported this by official ticket back on Sep 11 (the bug has been present since the product was launched on PS4), I was told "working as intended".  THAT was frustrating.

So, some progress.  I think.  I hope.

This has happened to me as well and I've been trying to source the root of the problem to it. From what I can tell it seems to bug out if you swap characters without going back to character select screen, so it's reading your previous character ring menu instead of your current one. Haven't tested to see if it does the same thing even if you opt to go back to character selection, but I have a theory if it does do the same thing that somewhere in the coding it has it marked saved settings per family and not per character. 

I'm not a coder so I really have no idea what happened just thought I'd offer some details in hopes of helping narrow down places the devs need to look to fix the problem. Or if the devs found the problem and are currently fixing it then I guess I'll wait til another update comes along that fixes the issue. After all it's not really breaking the game so I can put up with the fuss of reassigning my ring menu.

Yeah. I can't handle these resets anymore. For me they only started about a month ago, didn't get a single reset between launch and then, but now it's unbearable. 

What makes it worse is that it's just a seemingly easy issue to fix. I don't know how fucked up the code base is, but saving user settings should be one of the easiest things to fix.

I have been told that if you log out of the game before you turn off your console it should keep everything set. Please let me know if this works out for you. I will be looking into it as well this evening.

im sorry to tell you i have the same issues with the ring menu. no matter how i close the game its lost next time i log in the game. everytime its reset to standard, and its getting really frustrating. and since the last update for the altar i cant play anymore...im in the game maybe for 2 or 3 minutes, then i get disconnected from servers.......happy new year for you anyway....

didnt work, for many people this works some time, me too, but in some point change characters reset the radial menu and some system configurations, so is just a patch not a definitive solution, please fix this, shouldnt be so hard and is a big problem for the game.

I've noticed the menu and other settings reset every time I go to play another game after I play BDO for a while. Come back to BDO after an hour, and I've lost my ring menu and all. The only game it doesn't seem to do it with is Ghost Recon Breakpoint. It even resets if I go to YouTube. Such a pain to have to go in and fix everything every single time if I just want to play something else for a time.

The resetting ring menus may actually be what breaks me and makes me quit this game. I know that seems dramatic, I actually was surprised I feel so strongly about it. 

I disconnect properly all. The. Time. It sometimes happens when I switch between toons. Sometimes when I come back. But honestly, I am sick of redoing them all. So often. Especially newer toons as I learn them. My Shai reset 4 times in ONE DAY. I want to get on and play. I see the ring menus and am like meh. I'll just afk craft. 

It just gets super tiresome especially since my friends say never happens to them. They don't even bother disconnecting properly etc.

Also, when we submit a ticket they say it's not a bug. They aren't meant to save and they will rake it as feedback. 

I've encountered this save settings bug as well. Even when you properly log out of the game your settings reset as if being overwritten by other games. Ring menu, settings in general, even my inventory reverts back to unsorted. The way I'm seeing this problem occur is communication errors between the ps4 and the servers. It might be the ps4 that's having the issue but the thing is I bought a brand new ps4 pro last week and I'm getting this problem as well.

I am currently playing on the Serendia-1 server channel and I do not know if any of the other server channels have the same problem because no one here stated the server channel they use. Also I have BDO installed on an external Hard Drive and that might be the problem will try moving it onto ps4 storage system and see if that fixes it. It's really wasn't that much of an issue til I noticed it resets if I play another online game.

Will let you know after the move or reinstallation proves to be fruitful or not.

I play on various servers, my game is installed on my ps4. And I need to redo my ring menus on a character at least once a day. Sometimes more than one character and sometimes more than once a day.
