Newbie chiming in again!

I have noticed a lot of abbreviations and terminology, and some I have figured out but can anyone do a list of them for reference? These are the ones I think I know or have heard/read:

BDX = Black Desert Xbox

BDO = Black Desert Online

Grind = refers to the playing time spent doing repetitive tasks within a game to unlock a particular game item or to build the experience needed to progress smoothly through the game. (http://www.technopedia.com/definition/27527/grinding)

OBT = Open Beta Test?

META = ?

AOE = ?

Node = ?

You can use urban directory website for all that.

Aoe - area of effect attacks - are attacks which affect X area

Meta - strongest strategy currently (however there are more explanations to it)

Node - bdx node system. Huge one, Google it

So if witch znd warlock are meta, I want to avoid playing them? I feel crushed was thinking of starting beta as one or another. I'm a noob so not sure now.

Play whatever looks fun to you/ fits your playstyle

Slaves- NPC'S you hire from a work manager to gather/craft for you the game calls them workers but since you don't pay them, can sell them. and only feed them beer people will often refer to them as slaves

Would it be safe to say the beta is the best time to just 'try out' a class you may like since the progress doesn't carry over? That was my plan once I found out that detail, honestly. Besides trailing behind  in an attempt to steal his slaves.  (which is probably impossible but don't nuke my aspirations!)

If you've never played on PC I would highly recommend giving each class a try for at least a hour or two

I'd also recommend watching some how to videos on youtube after playing the beta for a few hours. Playing for a few hours have getting a few basic ideas about the game and then watching videos will make the topics in those videos much easier to follow. I'd suggest sticking with videos that are 2+ years old for the most part as those will be the closest to our content though some things like UI will be 100% different.

Dont take it too seriously im memeing.

Having said that, there was a class that was really good in disrupting other classes in pvp. The berserker. You could chain grab a player with 3 different skills and repeat, essentially locking them down. A recent update changed that. They now have to wait 3 seconds between each grab basically making the berserker useless since it didnt shine in anything else.

So meta isnt always good or bad. You should how ever play the witch/wizard since the nerf/power ups they got through the years weren't drastic.

Wait until we get mystics. Than you'll understand why I was salty ?

My classes i like are not available...striker,musa,ninja tamer, and new male ranger. But what drew me to wizard andwitch for starting is their self healing abilities. It sounds like witch has better range than wizard,so might do witch. Lol ranged so can take down my mobs faster lol. Then i saw this video after you reach 60  you risk ....lol,...rolf. I know this probably not funny as i'm an avid gatherer/crafter not good at pvp but after a cerain point other players can kill you and get your loot..so i want a fighting chance not to be...wil.be selling off goods as much as possible as much as possibe for that reason lol.

While your armor / accessories will move over smoothly your weapon / awakening/ and off-hands will not.

I suggested rolling a witch / wizard in this case because they are not very gear dependent and can grind very easily.

You can get away with a full non-boss gear duo set to grind and save up silver untill the class you want to main is released, giving you a huge jump ahead of everyone else re-rolling to that class.

Some classes do share some weapons. Like DK And zerker share The ornamental knot and I believe there are others but can’t remember.

For example warrior /valk sare the same offhand and mainhand BUT their awakening weapons are different.

DK / Zerk share the ornimental knot.

Witch / wiz sahre the same mainhand / off hand but not awakening weapon.

Tamer / ninja / kuno all share the same shortsword but not the same offhand.

And ranger / wizard both have daggers for offhands.

Strike / mystics share main / offhands as well I believe ? (never played either so not 100% certain here).

Each class will have a distinct awakening weapon though.

Yeah I know each class have a special awakening weapon for just them, but if Someone wants to play a class that isn’t out before bosses id suggest getting a box and save it or try to snipe the off hands and main hands off the MP!  could save you a lot of time in the future if you prepare in the beginning
