This is an image of gear upgrades the community created back on PC launch which showed gear progression for each launch class, this progressed with upgrades once Mediah and Valencia launched too.

This is a nice start guide for new players to help learn how gear progresses.  You will learn more about gear as you play, but most has already been worked out as BiS as we have PC to follow.

Hope this helps.

Useful, but just so people know, you will want to skip Liverto and try to go straight from Yuria to boss weapons. Liverto is generally considered a noob trap because they require nearly as much investment as boss weapons but grant lower stats and can be VERY hard to sell.

Eh, I would throw that away, while yes its detailed it's got some misinformation on it. For everyone starting at Launch Heve is the best overall starting armor, best over stats as it levels, up ANY new player in the Mediah update will probably start with Grunil or Heve which ever set is easier for them to get. Accessories aren't counting for the sets that drop in Calpheon now which are better than DUO Bares. Weapons are Yuria for most AP/PvP advantage, Elsh for most accuracy, AP offhand if you are a class that doesn't need accuracy, or Accuracy offhand if you do.  For now at launch Mark of Shadows "rings", and Witches "earring" are the endgame accessories.

When Mediah update comes don't wast your time switching to Grunil, start leveling your Heve to TRI, and start slow rolling the boss accessories during Event Attendance rewards. Also with Mediah update the Asula set will probably come as well, voiding most cheap accessories till Yellow or high end blue upgrades.

Kzarka (main), and the Dandelion (awakening) weapons are BiS for weapons, Kutum offhand is best for grinding, and Nouver is better for most PvP builds. Offhands can very depending on the type of Class you are so this is where you build starts going full AP, Hybrid, or DP builds.

Using the 'ol Veritas gear guide I see, it is pretty relevant to the XBOX launch. The new quest gear is quite good early on

^ Unless boss gear isn't out and field bosses are. Not saying you are wrong, but in this instance (what it was in PC US/EU launch), you would be severely behind PvP wise if you didn't go Liverto in that meantime. It's still not a bad idea for the non-PvP centered players to save their materials for Boss weapons though.

So heve hp gear over the dps looking gear if I plan a wizard?

Is that more of a long term goal to combat pvp or is it better dps overall
