Upgrading your bartali boat to a frigate...  mechanic is absolutely unbelievably horrible. Products such as coconuts are only available via a collection node by worker. Average collection if you have the highest level of worker available is quite limited in comparison to how much you need for building the boat. Considering on console the coconut averages 17,000-70,000 preorders, your only possible way to get this is a single node that two workers collect at. You have them collect all day and you must stay logged into the game and consistently feed them. You may be able to collect roughly 20,000 needed coconuts in about 400 hours or 16 days of continuous gameplay (that is if you have the highest level possible for a worker with gathering skills). Unfortunately like logs and rough stones the back order is a constant. But unlike those ... coconuts are not available for players to manually collect. If you are a new player and you have basic contribution points it is suggested that you run across the desert and set your workers up before you invest time into anything else just for the fact the workers will not be able to supply you them quickly. A basic worker may be able to collect up to 10-12 coconuts per 2 hours or so of online gameplay (roughly 1,400 hours). You must keep workers fed to continue collection. If you ever want to sail I would suggest this as the system seems restricted. PA advertises the ocean as great content but has very restricted access, and limited on activities. 

The life's skilling aspect of BDO is a vast complex system that is much of is basically ignored for the majority of players, even by lifeskillers. Crafting many of the possible things in BDO is a loss of profit in terms of time spent vs profit gained... unless you have workers collecting products, manually collecting is not recommended for many products. Many crafted items are available, though few are needed by the gaming community. Always throughly investigate possible crafting needs early on in the game. Unfortunately they do not allow you to manually collect several items and the back orders of many of the basic supplies are extremely high, so high that after a month of having preorders of things like logs I have gotten maybe 2/1000 filled. Currently the preorders stand at a bit over 170,000. The price is less than 10,000 each and it is rare for players to sell these desired products for the sole reasoning of profit vs time spent. I personally am only master gathering and I can collect roughly 1,800 logs an hour of game play. It takes a few hours of my character laying in a bed while I am online to maximize the energy regeneration to continue to collect.
