I know finding info on BDO can be difficult at times, so If anyones interested on how things are currently on PC Id be glad to explain and show you a video. Id expect the console version to be relatively similar and maybe just different in the UI and lifeskilling area.
my aim is to be filthy rich within 6 months of the release so i could buy all my gear and not gamble my silver away. so i got 2 questions
- Which lifeskill is most profitable in the long run? if cooking which recipe? (w if confidential )
- Which class will be most efficient to main for life skilling excluding tamer? i think musa is nice for dash, striker is also quite fast + he has Q which is basically a double jump and nimbus striker which is a good cliff jumper
Disclaimer: I realize grinding is more profitable * IF * RNG is kind and the area is not contested.
What's more important, being powerful or looking good?

Not the op but if say
Active: gathering
Semi active: cooking/alchemy whichever one you prefer.....don't do both from the start or your bank space will suffer greatly
Afk: processing
And trading once you reach master2 and have a few thousand trade crates ready but that's a long term plan requiring a great deal of effort along the way
As for which recipe to make I'd say whichever end game recipe is in lowest supply in the market. Bdo isn't just about the most profitable items, its also about which items sell the fastest since you have limited space to sell
Oh yeah forgot fishing afk for relic shards

There are a few important things about lifeskilling.. one stock up mats. You cant really start off right away doing certain ones. Two come prepared... the right food buffs, functional clothes, elixirs and alc stones and pets greatly increase your productivity and profit while decreasing your time spent. Three everything changes...
So alchemy was okay but the less profit margins untill kama hit and everyone needed elixirs.. so it all depends. Gather everyday atleast once, id do a full characters energy then go to the RBF and do the daily quest for 200 and gather again. Gather blood for leveling alchemy. Once you get enough switch to produce for the "fruits of" procs. Start making trash crates in Trent or Grana immediately. These will be turned in once you get about 40k to power level trading. You need atleast artisan 2 before you start selling profit crates. Trash crates are the no process required crates. Lead or crates are the best ones, but ash crates are okay too. Process short periods of AFK. You can process something to sell it on the market, or save it to make money crates. Thats what I do. AFK fish over night in Grana and then transport yourself to atleast sand grain to turn in when you log back in to level trading again and to make decent money.
1. Trading
2. Proccesing
3. Fishing (mainly this high due to relics.. dont sell these do them for mem frags)
4. Gathering (not much money made here if you sell stuff but the money it save you not having to buy it adds up)
5. Alchemy
6. Farming (feeds your alchemy, also you gather at your farms so)
7. Cooking
8. Sailing-Hunting (these go hand in hand, sailing helps you get to the whales and hunting is how you kill them so lol. Arguably this is alot more profitable then its placement... but its not done very often and can be annoying)
Cooking is really a novelty and a means to other things other then making money. Its done to take care of yourself and buffs more then it is done for money.. People do go through cooking batches to sell when matts stock up though.. Its mainly done to farm CP at the start of the game. Id cook instead of process to 200-250 cp and then get the rest questing and leveling alts.
IMO Rangers make the best lifeskillers because there so fast without using any abilities. But it really doesnt matter lol.

Neither, being happy is all that matters.. but out of the two powerful would be my choice. You can always make people lie to you if you ugly lmao

no need for master 2 or to stock thousands its a waste of time. You can only carry 7500 at once so anyhting more then that any your making a day of it. At Artisan 2 you can get the trade buff from valencia and thats honestly where you should start.
Is the world in BDO round or flat, just like in real world?

Its cream filled, like a cake.
World is flat as far as i know. Every place ive been thats at the edge has a natural lamdmark blocking you off. I hsvent tried some places at sea. Not sure if youd run into an invisible wall, fall of the face of the earth or wrap back around lol.

What if coconut drowns in marshmallow. Then your statement is false

theres a hint that the world is round-ish and thats because of a compass and the indications of the sun rotation and north direction when u open the map.
electro-magnetic fields create a round sphere of magnetic force around the object via poles. and since the north indication is always changing when u run to a certain direction its safe to assume that the world is round. if it was a different shape than the north indication would have acted differently.

Got another 3 questions.
1. how does one get magic tools?
2. whats more time/silver worthy to craft? steel tools or shiny tools? i just think that the effort in making shiny is a bit much and it kinda messes my workers setup.
3. should i craft my own ingots or have a worker craft them?
1. Buying from the market, daily log in rewards, dailies, or seals from imperial seals (selling horses) or bandit kills (the npcs that jump out while people have trade goods). Lucky tools are a great alternative that you get off procs making regular ones.
2. I wouldnt craft either for silver, just for personal use and hoping to get lucky procs.
3. You begin to get procs for ingots while you melt the ore once you level processing. so basically youll get free ingots making shards. Always do your own processing. For the exp and the procs.
We or people who played at the release on pc, have that advantage that we know / have alot of guides on internet how to start progressing. So it's easy to find what is most important at the beginning (craft-wise)

Ok the tool i need can be exchanged via conquest seals.
will it be more time worthy to gather hard hide and process steel to make (lucky) steel tools. or should i spend time collecting seals from bandits and exchange them for the magic tool?
Better to gather for sure. If you can use sheep, theres a good place called sheep mountain by heidel you can google. Not sure what it requires as i just buy mine but its much quicker then the seals for sure.
I have a question, what is this Family Name Fund I keep getting paid for? I don't understand it, but its giving me lots of money so...thats good? But what is it?

Its a daily payout you get according to your fame. The more points you have the more you get.
Your fame splits into 3 categories:
Combat - determined by the level of your characters. higher levels give more points.
Life - life skills above professional add points.
Special - determined by how much energy and contribution points you have.

Ohhhh, thats actually really cool. Its nice to see a game pay you for just doing stuff. Thanks!
For life, Only thing i might add is im pretty sure its only for characters over 56 and up on pc (says it when i mouse over) so obviously thatll be different on xbox.
i forgot to add that you keep getting fame funds even if you dont log in for months. so for instance if you get 750k a day which is really easy to accomplish and decide to take a break for a month. when you come back you'll have a whopping 21m. which at end game worths nothing tbh..
