For the people that play bdo already. What do y'all predict the meta to be considering only 6 classes are plan to be available at release so far?

there will be 1 warrior, 2 zerkers, 3 tamers, a few sorcs, a lot of rangers, ALL WIZARDS AND WITCHES EVERYWHERE

Oh and all the warriors are gonna cry because they only picked warrior for greatsword and will only have 1 hander and shield 

Tamers isnt gonna be present at launch as far as i know

Oh yeah I forgot it doesn't have tamer at launch PC did sorry lol

I'm expecting to see lots of Rangers, Wizards, and Witches. Berserkers will probably the next biggest class, maybe tying with Sorceress. Warrior will probably be the least played, mostly because their pre-Awakening is a little.....plain. Or least thats how it all reads to me. But off launch I'm expecting its going to be Wizards, Sorceress, Rangers, Bezerkers, Warriors, Witches. I don't have a reason as to why on that one, I just feel like if people are going to think (If I wan't to play a female magic user, why not use Sorc instead?) at least until the game actually gets understood enough to get a real meta in which case my first answer comes into play.

50% wiz & witch plebs, 25% normies who think they can play rangers, 15% warriors who think this is WoW, 9% casuals who don't realize how not rewarding zerker/sorc is. 1% who can actually play zerk/sroc quite well.

Warriors in WoW are actually not bad at all. and yeah BDO warriors are really cool in AWAKENING.

suck as in boring, also pre awk warrior is fun if you have good AP

I plan on doing witch but not because everyone else may? I love mage classes and while the sorc looks "better" it seems more battle wizard. I was very interested in the tamer and dark Knight and was greatly saddened by their missing from launch. Also really like ranged characters and can't believe ranger goes melee in Awakening, curious if the PC male ranger will be full ranged or melee then ranged.

Male Ranger is fully ranged according to the datamine.

Assuming minimal changes from PC versions, I'd say lots of Wiz/Witch.

Myself I think Witch main, then warrior with ranger lifeskiller. 

Will they add Male coutnerparts to some of the other classes you think?  I for one would love to see Male DK.

I like warrior to for class, your not helping me decide my beta starting class at the rate your going. I heard sorceess was powerful....

I m huge fan of valkyrie, i was planning to play warrior because pre-awe weapons so that i can use that items on my valkyrie. what do you think guys. it is worth it to play for items or i should go for another class that good at grinding silver so that i can use silvers for my valkyrie when she release?

I wiuld say then play warrior if you love valkyrie.we do not know when other classes be added but maybe you be more comfortable starting as warrtior?

Im not sure you will use the same gear. By the time we get world bosses valk will probably be out already and your gear probably outdated

I'm leaning toward Wizard and Zerker with what the options are sadly. Not what I really care to play but due to the limited choices I will give those a shot.

I'm going witch for main, 2 more witches for boss alts ( So I can just send them outdated gear as I replace it) and the rest don't really matter as they'll just be used for energy, storage, and gathering 

Playing the Xbox One Beta will be my first time playing BDO. I mainly play PvP in MMO’s and I’m excited for BDO’s release. After looking into the classes of the game I want to play striker but sadly the beta won’t showcase the class. Instead I’m gonna try zerker, sounds like he’ll be a good choice for pvp. Will we be able to keep our progress from this beta when the game launches?

We will not. Beta will be a good time to try a few classes and see what you like. Zerker is great for small scale pvp and always usefull in large scale as an AOE stun with his 100% ult.

That’s a shame. Well nonetheless I’m very excited for this game. I used to play swtor and I liked the market in that game, looks similar to BDO’s market. Played ESO for a long time but the recent patches have made its pvp too unbalanced for me to enjoy anymore. How’s the balance in BDO?

If you're looking for balanced pvp, mmo's are typically not the best place. I haven't played BDO but I've played ESO since release and from what I've seen ESO pvp appears more balanced than BDO. (but it's probably a matter of opinion)

Balance is a strange thing to think about in BDO.

Every class has something it Excels in and weaknesses.

For example:

Pre awakened wiz/witch as the WORST 1 v 1 class by a massive margin BUT are the most usefull class in nodewars / large scale due to a protective aoe barrier and heavy aoe damage. The are also the 2nd fastest grind class pre-awakened behind ranger (out of our starting 6).

Sorc is an amazing 1 v 1 class but has to skirt and try to pick off stragglers in large scale. They also grind slowly.

Balance comes more down to what playstyle do you want. Do you want more apples or more oranges. Better 1 v 1's or bettwe large scale. Do you want to grind fast or not have to spam potions while grinding or not care about your grind speed.

Its when a class has nothing that its great at that it falls behind overall, this isnt the case for anything really in the NA/EU version.

 

This post really sums up why I am so excited for BDO. Plain and simple we really seem to be headed back toward the days of stuff like Lineage 2, where there isn't a "must play" type character for things like Guild Wars and PvP. What it will come down too, is how well you play your character and if you use it properly. Rewarding SKILL over stats for once again. I love that idea.

Love where your heart is with this post.  BUT, I should warn you that from what ive seen with this game, and during my epic and eternal MMO hunt on PC.  BDO's most hated feature is the fact that it is far TO gear based.
