So is chat filter gonna be non optional, or on by default with opt out.(I know its a opt out system on PC) The only reason I'm asking is because the console version of tera, the chat is nearly unusable because of the aggressive filter. as well is their options to block/report people through chat, item link codes, etc. Thank you
Its a tricky question to answer since we dont know if the chat will support a plug-in keyboard (should it?) so you're left with controller typing in chat.. which i doubt any1 will use that much. imo people will opt to use a voice chat and theres not filter in there.. (except for the one in our minds)

Yep, and it might even be used more than voice chat, lol

Every Xbox game usually supports chat if it's an option in game to talk, and you can use Xbox App.

I never actually used a keybored to talk to someone in ESO, I've always made parties and used chat. ESPECIALLY in pve content where you MUST communicate to actually finish the the dungeon.
Same goes for me in Destiny, Warframe, Elite: Dangerous and maybe some others im forgetting. Chatting is always the best option for me, although not always comfortable.
I prefer voice chat it makes the world more alive, but some people need text because of medical reasons so it's definitely needed
i use the ms chat pad that attaches to the bottom of the controller to chat is eso all the time. i use it on the pc too but it requires the controller to be connected to the usb. u gotta use the legit ms chat pad though not the crappy knockoff ones because the difference is like night and day. its also backlit if u play at night.
