I found these videos by the youtuber lighthouse helpful in getting to see the classes that are in black desert. It gives the overview of each class. I recommend watching it.

We will be getting beserker, ranger, sorceress, warrior, witch, and wizard at launch.

I pick tamer 

I pick Warrior for the release and Striker formy mains 

I think that a good starting class is a wizard/witch. 

They can survive without poitions, with self heals and mana regan skills. Theyre not gear reliant as much as other classes, Plus theyre great grinders due to facts above and because they got really powerful aoe skills.

After that I believe that you should try to play every other class in the game. Why? First of all, alts are super important for energy (e.g. convert energy to energy potions and use on main gatherer etc) and if you repeat the main quest with them you can gain extra contribution points (and that sweet black stone crystal) which are the foundation bricks for succeeding in the game. Along with those benefits you need to realize that almost every class has its own playstyle, strengths, weaknesses and combos. To truly understand each class and pick your main you have to try them all imo.

Some classes have combos that might be easier and boring to some and other classes might have harder combos that could be too demanding for some.. its all subjective.

Thats my 2 cents on the subject.

I have been a tamer, and I will remain a tamer ?

I know its important to have other characters....but I only want to play Sorc, maybe DK will be a secondary when thats released but Sorc is the only class that really interests me. Still can't wait for Xbox release, I'll probably be trying to grind on last few levels(on PC obv) to get my awakening these next two weeks until SCVI releases. I still really want my damn scythe, who would have thought 50-56 would be so damn boring?

If you want to play sorc and only her that’s perfectly fine, just make alts for enhancing and life skills and energy for night vendor!

Yeah, thats probably what I'll do. I still don't fully understand the whole life skilling and stuff but I'm sure I'll figure it out in time.

The classes in the beta are the classes at launch

This collection of videos was beyond helpful in determining the class I'll begin with. You're awesome ! 

Now to figure out the pets thing...

Good vids for the newer players. Thanks for posting. I think I'd like to try more of the Sorceress or perhaps Witch. Witch is super fun you get to blow stuff up with great balls of fire!.

The Tamer is a beautiful creature. Played her on PC. The Heilang mount is unique to her class and takes zero fall damage nor do you when mounted.  Even from ridiculous heights. It’s been a while since I have played so they may have changed that mechanic.
