What can I say!

The lightning with hdr in 4k is all over the place again and it's worse than before!

Hair changes color, shadow flickering, texture artifacts on shining objects and on clothes.

Additionally the lighting at night is total mess.

Before it was OK with hdr brightness to lowest now its just a dark game.

Lighting in this game destroyed congrats for the first step backwards!

Anyway I'm already tired.

I tried to do my best using sharpness and various other TV filters but there is no solution to make the game look as before.

You have lowered the textures and  the lighting resolution as well.

The wet clothes are not visible as they were before.

Rain on clothes has white textures moving on clothes boots and bow.

Level of detail has been reduced

Shadow resolution probably reduced as well

You had a beautiful game in 4k hdr now with mediah update everything is Meh!

I can't play the game anymore like this

See ya on xbox 2.

Hope you can deliver the true 4k res and textures.

This is how good the game was looking before!

It is clear that before mediah there were higher textures etc and who knows what else has been lowered and it looks like trash now

I've noticed something has definitely changed and for the worse. Keep running into a lot of dark areas and adjusting my tv settings are not helping. What did they do?

Looks like it's something with hdr.

The sun in mediah update now produces white lighting instead of yellow!

Some torches I found on the game produces white lighting.

More like Xeon update looks too me

Generally they f up the lighting of the game. Who know they probably reduced the lighting resolution as well.

The lighting of the game is f up.

Maybe they reduced the general resolution as well in 4k smells like 3840*1800 upscaled to 4k and makes the game blurry and ugly!

Before the game was atmospheric and was looking  stunning.

Cant say the same happens now.

It's the kids that were screaming its too bright its too bright.

And now we suffer because pearl abyss listens to people that can't move their single finger to adjust something.

My 1080 p version of blacks desert on pc looks better than the 4k version of xbox now!

Not only that but the game does not look like black desert to me on xbox.

You would be surprised that black desert was looking even more stunning by using the incorrect hdmi range from your TV options.

Now whatever you try it's all messed up you can't do much.

The same could be done on pc by going through the ini and change a setting (don't remember now) instead of seeing this over saturated trash and the game then looks Uber!

Atreus I can give you some tips fixing the game a bit but it will not bring back the old graphics.

First you need a TV that has some options to turn on and of.

I'm using a1 Sony Oled

So let's start.

1st of all due to white light that came after Meh update you need to go to advanced color management on your TV and set red bias to max.

This will make the lighting color a bit more yellow.

Additionally you need an option on your TV that enhances contrast.

Mine has an option of live color.

Normally this will make colors more saturated and increase contrast as well but in black desert it only affects contrast. Strange.

Then you need an option called advanced contrast enhancer just set it to low or medium but never high.

I prefer low.

You can also use full hdmi range instead of limited.

I use full which is the incorrect hdmi range but this simulates the feel of the ini settings I was using on pc to make the colors less bright and give a more immersive and detailed atmosphere.

Now on to the game I use 85 contrast from hdr

And a brightness of 585.

Still trying to find the sweet spot.

I will update if I find better settings.

Update

:I decided to go with advanced contrast enhancer to high.

The game has lost a lot by this update and the detail is not visible enough without it.

Although this comes with negatives but I can't do anything more.

Additionally I added black adjust to high.

And increased sharpness from 70 to 80.

You can also try using pc rgb color from xbox

And only use contrast from your TV.

Looks like pc rgb is more accurate to the original feel before Meh update!
