I’m confused for what reason is a video game charging Such an insane amount for tax? By itself it takes 30% which is sometimes 100k+ silver away from me. so for what? Is it building schools in a video game? Making more jobs for the npc’s? what exactly is the point because I think it’s dumb. also why can’t we trade in this game when literally thousands of games have implemented that -.- if you’re gonna take 30% of everything I own for no reason atleast give me that.

Yeah their entire central market system is by far the worst of any mmo I've played in 15+ years. The fixed prices make it near impossible to turn a profit off crafting and the tax makes it worse.

Agreed. 30% is just too much.     5-10% would be far better. I mean it's virtual currency. Where is it going? Prices on the CM are not that great as it is especially for selling anything that are not higher end gear drops or pearl shop items. Resources, crafting mats are just meh and don't make much money on that stuff as it is for the amount of time invested to gather and process the stuff. I realize they want to control the cm to an extent because of bots and sniping etc. but still, this 30% tax has nothing to do with this issue. I really wish they would rework this system.

Well, if you're looking for in-game taxation places:

Military costs are high, the sheer number of guards on hand would cost a small fortune. Then there is the education costs, subsidizing the church, making sure that the merchant legions pay their share.

The real answer is that once node wars/siege wars are active, the guild takes tax money in the form of their payouts.

And every one of those games has dealt with gold spammers and RMTs. This way combats that issue.

Again as above. Fixed prices prevent RMTs and gold sellers. Also prevents that absurd idea that BDO is p2w. Currently with supply and demand if players could name their price, the price of costumes and pets for example would be astronomical.

As for turning a profit, people do it. The more pre orders for an item the higher the price goes. For example the first guy selling trainers cloths had the price over 5 times the origional price. Thats a pretty solid profit.
