Someone brought up darker nights and thatd be pretty dope. What about moon cycles and throw in event moons like a harvest moon for increased gathering or blood moons for even stronger enemies? Night cycles can vary up the darkness and make for some pretty cool environment 

Would be a good idea, I could see this being added to the game. Gather at night for 2x exp or Gather during blood moon for chance at rare mats.
