Perhaps it may suggested that there could be a option to either turn down the strength of the camera follow reorientation, and allow the camera to be independent of the character movement.
As soon as a player starts to move a character, the camera immediately starts to reorient itself behind the player, and player may find themselves wrestling with the camera. It happens a lot when mounted and trying to check your surroundings.
If the intensity of the camera's tendency to 'snap' to follow were to be lessened, we could find it easier to check our surroundings in game while traveling and in combat.
