I had this happen to me twice, it's kinda tricky to pull off but nonetheless it happens.

So I run into my house and immediately push up on d-pad to see my house furniture/cooking/alchemy tools and get an error message saying "cannot access right now" something along those lines (realistically I don't pay attention to that but I assume it's something like that). Then there will be just my character standing there with no HUD but when I move the stick/d-pad left or right, it'll be like I'm selecting something from the house inventory menu but nothing is shown. Pressing A, B to get out of it won't do anything but pressing the "Start"/menu button WILL open the game menu and it allows for the selection of other characters or change servers to get out of this softlock and upon re-entry everything works fine.

Not sure exactly how complicated this bug is to reproduce but if I'm able to do it again, I'll post a video here.

You must wait until most of the furniture is loaded in or you have this is issue, had this a lot of times but since I'm waiting a few seconds, this does not happen again.

• I had the same issue, as R4GE0fW4R suggested, just wait until your furnishings load before you try and pull up the menu.
